My budget was ₹500 per month then came a disappointment in AGM that minimum plans will be ₹700. And yesterday story you all know. Even though if I decide to pay 700 a month there are better options for than Jio. In my area ACT, AIRTEL, BSNL FIBER are available. If they provided 50Mbps 500gb fup it would have been better.

Looks like I have to go through the painful process of getting refund. Or should I wait for some time ?

Was thinking the same to apply for refund. But considering it till the time it is free and starts charging for the services. I believe that this plans are not practical and might change sooner or later before starting to charge.

Jio fiber expansion mostly goes through invite process. After seeing this plans I don't know who will invite Jio fiber to their apartment/societies .

At some point, I think about the STB and the TV channels I will be getting with this connection. (This will be a huge cost saving factor if we cut our cable TV connection. We will get almost all channels with Catch up features which is great). Then I think about the FUP limits of Jiofiber which puts me down.

For me, I had cut my 2 cable connections some months back and been depending on YouTube and Hotstar for news and live sports on TV (via chromecast).

And my monthly usage is coming in the border of 200GB. This should come down drastically if the data consumed by the JioFiber STB won't be hopefully counted.

So, at this moment, I am good to go with the lowest plan (100+50(6 months)). Hopefully, they will announce on the Top-up recharge options soon. Since they already have that 40GB topup factor, the question now is "how much will it be charged?!".

Someone in this thread or another made a valid point. When Jio launched 4g they introduced shitty plans and then later gave Happy new year offer making them mouth watering cheap. I expect same thing happening to fibre too. Within 2-3 months they will have to amend or introduce much better plans otherwise too many people will apply for refund and new users will shy away.

My practical suggestion..opt for 849 plan for a month or at max 2 months..u will get 200 gb / month for 2 months and another 200 gb for 6 months combined.so u can say 200gb+100 gb per month for 2 months..use the service see if jio tv app is there or not.see which ott apps subscription they r giving..see if jio tv app consumes data or not.all these things will be clear when u use it..after 2 months, hopefully they update the plan.and if they dont update and if u feel ur usage is high then just dont recharge it ...keep it as it is and opt for some other provider..jio has played a game here..by keeping price high and data low.they havr given opportunity for other players to decrease their data limit and increase price.i was shocked that yesterday when jio was updating their fiber tariff on website, airtel was busy reducing their own data limit in 799 plan.so this way when others will increase their tariff then suddenly jio will bring something very disruptive pricing and then things will change..so now its just wait and watch game.

They started 4g with 0.3gb per month 149rs plan , 499 for 4gb per month and you know what happened next . I think seeing the market response fiber plans will be upgraded too very soon

TV channels are not included as per the current plan. Jio TV might work but there will be a separate charge for the STB. If the stb was included in the plans, they would have proudly trumpeted 600 plus channels are included.
