These guys have very little technical knowledge. Last month a couple of them came to my home to enable voice calls and they didn't even know how to use an app on the phone. They could not understand what Jio call app showed. They didn't understand that one has to connect by selecting Jiofiber option and kept trying to click on Jio SIM which I don't have. It was even grayed out but they just wouldn't understand. They even laughed at my white router claiming now it was just 2500. When I tried to explain the speed difference and bands, I could tell they had no idea. One of them said, as long as you get 20 Mbps, that's all you need.

The 20 Mbps line is the company's directive even their customer care says the same thing.

They done installation today for me
3 persons asked for plans and details while they are installing
Jio installation guys are still saying 3 months free.

The 20 Mbps line is the company's directive even their customer care says the same thing.
So any time we face speed issues(although we shouldnt on fiber) they will say 20 Mbps is all you need. We all had such high hopes for Jio and look at this disaster.

Can Jio Fiber's backend technical team increase or decrease our router's WiFi range? I have getting very low 5Ghz WiFi range even even in the closed room. This issue is only occurring in this newly replaced dual band router. Previous was returned due to some internal fault but it had very high/strong 5Ghz
and 2.4Ghz range WiFi range.

I know they can remotely initiate the reset command to router. Maybe they have some more control/Accessibility to our routers !
Maybe they can lower the WiFi range so people buy their WiFi extenders or other stuffs.

No they cant.

2ghz band is over saturated thus slow speeds.

Say u are in a very isolated place, you should be able to get whole 100mbps the router supports.

It just looks like the media churning news about Jio to keep the interest alive. Most people have already forgotten about Jio post "launch"

Actually, I am taking about 5Ghz WiFi range issue.

You could always check the transmit power for the Wifi in the router. They can't make any changes w/o a firmware upgrade. Your suspicion can only turn to a fact, if you see a new firmware flashed. They just stopped selling those dual band routers because the economics didn't work. They were anticipating to keep selling the dual band routers while charging people INR 4500 but that didn't go well w.r.t the prevalent competition. They were quick in realising that and may only sell Single Band routers with nominal charge or Ask the customers to bring their own moving forward. Get a replacement ASAP before they totally run out of the dual band routers.
