Sify Broadband Service Charges!

I was thinking abt this scenario, where users have to shed money on the name of service charge, from many days.I guess i have got some kinda solution to it (although cant say its foolproof)But in the end it gets back to Sushub's idea, with some clever clause.If ur CTO is charing u 450 bux for nite pack (wen cost of pack is 360), i'd say register ur id with some different CTO, n renew ur new id online (using credit card or stuff). N wen ur CTO calls u up, just tell him u'll do the renewal later on as u r goin out or dont have money or ne lame excuse. If ur CTO pulls out the plug (just incase he gets a hint u r using some different id wich is not registered with him) simply call up customer care n tell them u r not able to get online, as u r not able to ping ur local gateway, n wen CC dude asks for id, give him ur old id wich is registered with ur CTO only. Now! the obvious thing which u may hear is, "But sir ur id has already expired, u need to renew it b4 u get online again" this is wen u'll be tellin him u r usin ur frnd's id who lives far off.This way, u shud be able to ensure two things,1. CTO is not able to pull the plug.2. U dont have ot pay service charge.I feel this shud work.Occ@$$ional renewals from ur local CTO wont be a bad idea as well.Note:CTO dont really pull the plug, they rather wait for few months, but not sure, different CTOs different mindset.
 
well since sify has no condition on every broadband user to get the packages renewed. they theoritically cannot tell you to buy packages which end up paying the cto.so, getting a userid from another cto is a good idea. this practically bites back sify coz the cto would complain to them.
 
the problem over here is not Sify but local CTO, coz thats the only idiot who over charges money on the name of service charge. So just to ensure connectivity till gateway, u had to think abt some work around, this is wat i tried to dig out.
 
well sify are the one with the hideous conditions. either they make it clear that cto can charge extra on their website. or they handle the cto themselves. :)
 
I donno, other than this service charge factor, they r keepin mum on another issue, wich is , use of unlimited plans for commercial purpose.I donno wen they gonna clean off this kinda corruption from their company.I wasnt wrong wen i said, dealin with Sify is like dealin with some sick govt office
 
I renew my internet package online (http://shopping.sify.com) and I pay the BASE price for the package (night plan = Rs. 561.20/-) and my CTO charges Rs.575.00 if I get it renewed from his end -- Luckily my CTO is not charging me anything additional -- and I'd give it out to him and his network maintenance -- Hardly 3-4 hours downtime for the whole month !!! (SIFY IS GOOD, its just the CTO that screw everything up for you)
 
Nothing..neither does he ask for nething..downtime is hardly there....mostly coz of problems@ my building ..even cable goes out sometimes!
 
my cto charges rs. 100 for non-unltd & rs 150 for unltd (both pure & 150 mb/day cap plans)even i wasn't charged the first time. this is 'coz that we pay the installation & do not change our mind of not taking the connection.also, it so happened that i wanted to take a 3 months plan directly & this cto was dissuading me that u should 1st take only 1 month pack, which i realised later was only 4 his benefit

what can i tell him?

is there solutions not to pay service charge to CTO?

U r not lucky enough as me. A same thing also happened to me after installion of sify. IN those days I forcibly had to renew my connection through CTO .They were charging Rs. 50 extra per months package irrespective of validity of package for eg. Rs. 300 for 6 monts + package value. CTO said it was maintenance charges.But due to intranal rivalry between CTO n sify ,sify people started collecting renewal money of same price whatever written in revised catalogue at doorstep without involvement of CTO. This had happened about 5 months . After settlement now Cable operator is collecting money n renewing packages without taking thAT XTRA charge of Rs.50 per package. So bettter u do renew online with cust care of sify n pay them directly ............
