Slow download speeds on 1gbps plan

hardware is good but the software isn't well you can unlock it but still things like bootup and uplink is slow

also, my area customer support is so noob, they were saying they don't have 1gbps ont so cancel the request and they are not even ready to upgrade me on the current ont they say that this ont doesn't support more than 300mbps like wtf

Well I somehow managed to convince them and then they gave me the Nokia one but they were still saying that dont complain if you don't get 1gbps

not sure about that because they gave me old stock from 2020 and I think it had some issues like It used to boot 2 times 1st boot then it auto restarted and then again used to boot and yeah Nokia software was also crap

Today I got it replaced with ZyXEL which is better than both of them in terms of everything but then again its locked

but I don't have any issues since I have replaced the Airtel stock ont

Well i called engineer again to confirm if ONT is to be replaced and he said NO. I will get a new username /password. Like what is this ? Why is airtel behaving like noobies.

i asked him what is this crap about. He said as per new rules they will replace username config every time user asks for 1gbps plan upgrade. Hahaha

I feel like they are just increasing connection count to complete with jio lol

I refused the Dasan when I had gone to 1G on a trial 2 years ago 2021. Kept my ever reliable Nokia and won't change it till it eventually dies. When an ONT is in bridge mode the main work is done by your personal router.

So my request to upgrade to 1 gbps is declined by airtel. They say my Nokia modem only supports 300mbps speed. We cannot upgrade you as 1 gbps is only available for dasan and this router is out of stock.

I argued with them that nokia modem support 1gbps by ethernet and they said its not possible. Tried with 3 different customer executives

they have mugged up same statement and paste on every customer asking for 1gig.
however, the truth is airtel in most of the areas is not capable of 1gbps down.
