Slow speeds on BSNL Broadband

Unfortunately, I'm back on BSNL but I'm not experiencing that much packet loss, though the ping is higher as usual (not as high as yours though!) :

It's better now. There is usually no point in complaining as it fixes by itself. Arguing with their local representatives is usually a futile exercise.

Why man? Did you try contacting senior officials? I've had very good experience with senior BSNL officials from Pune.

No .. i have actually registered complaints using 1500 , but for some strange reason they reject my complaints ..

Here is a update on the slow speed issue in Pune .
On conducting a speedtest test and selecting a pune server i get around 600Kbps . On selecting a Mumbai server i get around 3.5 Mbps . i am on a 4 Mbps plan .
BSNL helpdesk have no clue on whats going on .. Downloading and Usenet speeds are normal but torrents are slow as hell and i get only 50 Kbps for heavily seeded torrents .
This definately is a issue on the BSNL end .

Well, it has started again from yesterday, don't know how long will it continue.Browsing has become super slow.

has anyone noticed the external IP assigned by BSNL today. For me it is showing in domain of 117.241.xxx.xxx and it doesn't change even by rebooting the modem several times . I haven't seen this kind of domain with 241 before. Earlier it was 117.200.xxx.xxx , 117.207.xxx.xxx , 117.212.xxx.xxx and 117.214.xxx.xxx. On my visit to local exchange 2 days back a JTO told me that some upgradation work is going on in bsnl node in Noida which is responsible for current high pings and speed fluctuations and is likely to continue for whole of May. It seems he was right.
