Speed Boost Again!!!!!!! getting 2Mbps+ on 512kbps

ok, on the topic of frying the modem,, i noticed that once during a 2second power cut, as my inverter kicked in and when the power came back my mains took over, the modem light kept blinking for several seconds..this doesn't happen when i normally restart the modem, but after that, my speed boost stayed for a good couple of hours..throughout the night i believe..wonder if there's anything to it! power surge, restarting the modem etc..
