Suggest a suitable wifi router

Is it. Sad to hear that. What went wrong & which model was it?
WAG120N.
A couple of things - poor range, would suddenly stop broadcasting at random. Plus it would not display proper line stats. Look for WAG120N on this very forum.
BTW, I still have the stupid thing:sad:. I only use it as a modem now. Thank goodness for my Netgear router.

TP-Link is solid, op you might want to check their offerings, Buffalo too has a router within the sub 2k range, but I find tp link to be the best vfm.

Linksys is good, but I feel a bit overpriced.
I have a friend who used to work for Cisco tech support & he told me NOT to buy Linksys products. He also said that the AG series had a really bad reputation. The older ones were so much better. There are a few decent Linksys units, but it's a gamble.

D-Link or Netgear would be my choices based on what friends have told me & also, my experience with Netgear, but hey, it's your money. Do a lot of research & don't get stuck with a lemon, like me.
Remember, it's your primary connection to the internet & you are going to be stuck with it for a long time.,

I am using BSNL Broadband from 8 months (as I don't have any other choice). My first plan was 500 plan for which I took Type 1 modem on rent by paying a security deposit of Rs.500. After about 3 months I changed my plan to 750 combo for which there is no modem charge. However I wanted a wireless modem and wanted to change the current one with a wireless modem that too for rent. The BSNL people say that there is no supply of modems from BSNL, but they are selling wireless modems unofficially for Rs.2000. When I searched in some online shopping sites I was getting Type N ADSL modem at much less price and am planning to buy TP-Link TD-W8151N Adsl2+ Wireless modem/router which I was told that it would be suitable for BSNL broadband. What I would like to know is, if I surrender my current modem supplied by BSNL, will I get my security deposit back? Also whether the TP-LINK modem I have mentioned is suitable for my BSNL broadband connection? Will I be able to use the same modem as router if I take any cable connection like Beam or Hathway once I move to the city? Please guide me over this and also suggest any better modem for me if this is not ok. I have preferred this N type modem because there is difference of only Rs.150 between G type and Ntype modems of TP-Link.Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

No you will not be able to use with other fibers. It works only with ADSl/ BSNL only.N is always better compared to othersMy 2 cents on deposit is that they issue a check in two months or so after you surrender the itemMy suggestion: use basic adsl modem (type 1) and buy wifi router this can be used with others like beam.Hope it helps :)
