Tata Sky DTH: Poor customer care service

Good and wise decision. I am waiting for my freeview to end and then might shift back to cable as here i get 150+ channels with all sports,news, and lots of regional channels for just 150 - 180rs with STB.

Good. But here in Pune cable tv is also really expensive. For normal cable (without STB) charge is Rs.285/- while with STB its Rs.332. In some areas they are charging @Rs.430/-. Cable is ICC network and they dont have any competition from other cable services as they do not operate in their area. So we only have option of DTH.

It is a problem. In some cities they charge only Rs.80 for all these channels and for the same channels they charge Rs.250 in other part of the same city!

i dont knwo why they are moving to dth at first place1. u say it is bcoz of picture but with no hdtv in india (and u need a lcd tv to enjoy that ) the pic quality is no better than cable2. rs 150 here and u get 80 plus channel with all names u know ( no packs here)3. one cable and connect as many tv + computer at the same time so diff member can watch diff channel at same time( kids can watch cartoon and movie for u ) not possible in dth

even at my area there are many people who have opted for dth .. i dont get why ? either they opted just coz of curiosity and either they dont know the limitation and tech knowledge
dont shoot me for that but i think it's because of the people only who dont have much knowledge that dth company are having advantage and fooling people
just look at the "TERMS AND CONDITION" of any dth they are taking all type of charges and still u didnt own neither the disk nor the stb . u cant change ur provider if u r not satisfied .u cant receive just the free to air chanells
even after TRAI guidelines how didnt dth didnt implement bcoz of lack of awareness among people .. cutomer just dont protest they are blindly-satisfied and watching ads of sharukh and aamir
if there are any problem in my cable it just take one phone call and the cable operator solve it in a day with no charges while dth charges 250/- for each visit by "engineer"
there is still lots of thing that has to be done for DTH IN INDIA for standardization and i think currently this is the beta phase which is bourne by customers for dth companies
