The Ridiculous Airtel Broadband Plans

There are 2 plans in Bangalore..very similar to each other.Transonic 1250 - 80 GB and Transonic 1500 - 80 GB. They are almost exactly the same, with some difference in the voice benefit. When I called the CC, they are clueless about it. They say that it isn't available in your area yet. They asked me to not consider these plans. Basically they just wanted to get rid of me and stop picking their brains. The CC I was speaking to couldn't explain which areas it is applicable to and how is she saying that it is not available in my area. She couldn't even explain the plans. As per her the Transonic 1250 - 80 GB is actually only 60 GB. Its ridiculous how clueless they are about their own plans, but I don't blame them. It must be down to even more ridiculous management and total miscommunication between their various departments. They all seem to be doing one thing in unison though..singing that "slap in the face of the customer song " - Jo tera hain woh mera hain.

Kolkata 4 mbps till 80 gb 1899
Bangalore 4 mbps till 80 gb 1400

I think that is because of ACT, BBNL etc... and their progress in expansion is very much noticeable for last couple of months- the same thing what happened in Hyderabad with BEAM. In my area I can get 10Mbps unlimited without post FUP and torrent throttling for Rs.1100+taxes from Spectranet (BBNL).

Well, I guess we will have to wait for these new plans to get rolled out in other parts of the country, especially the metros. There are no new plans yet in Chennai either.

right. these are for gurgaon possibly for delhi ncr. i should mention a cool thing here. this file was sent by airtel in ods format! :Dand it has the same typo as their website. fibrenet 40GB is labeled as fibrenet 80GB. it's annoying how these typos from airtel confuses the whole thing.

Bangalore has many other providers who are cheaper.

I hope Beam comes to kolkata.Alliance and Meghbela are doing an ok job.but the middle man is the problem for them.their customer care aint that good.

One thing i don't understand about airtel is why the hell they are giving the post FUP and reducing it directly to 256Kbps, are we still living in the stone age damn it.:crazy1:

So they would only provide cheap service if there is good competition.I hope all of Bangalore is covered by those cheaper ISPs, otherwise we may start seeing street specific plans. :)
