Heh.In the new plans, they have cleverly removed the 150GB plans for 2 and 4 mbps speeds and have offered 175GB plans at 8 and 16 mbps speeds. This way, new subscribers and migrating subscribers who want higher end plans will be made to choose between 8,16 mbps plans.

well they have been working hard to improve their revenue generation! broadband prices have been increased. edge speeds have been slowed down.

Today, I got info (email) from Airtel that there's no Rapid 150 in the market. But there's Rapid 175 only.

/me is confused.

I'm also tempted to go for this plan considering the new tariff for Turbo 150 (current plan) is Rs. 2250.
Rapid 175 offers double the speed, 25GB more data and 1000 free local minutes and a post-FUP speed of 512k for Rs. 349 extra.
The price of 20GB on smartbytes is Rs.799.
Turbo 150@4 mbps = Rs.15 per GB
Rapid 175@8mbps = Rs.14.85 per GB

Any opinion/advise?
I think you already know the answer - Rapid 175@8mbps.

Are these new plans available for chennai, because I can't see them on their website.

Yep. All the plans mentioned in the OP are also available in Chennai now. The site hasn't been updated yet.@uberjon: I'll do it.

Good. I just asked for a plan change too.From rapid plus 75 GB @ Rs. 2150 to Rapid 80 GB @ Rs. 2099.So I pay a little less for a little more!!Granted I never should have been paying more in the first place, but hey, whadaya gonna do?

Well i gave request for disconnection of Airtel Broadband but Airtel Retention department gave a plan with 30 GB @ 2 Mbps for Rs 947 for next three months. Pretty good plan i hope they introduce new plans soon. Also there price hike is between Rs 50 to 100. I dont understand when they can offer plans like this to customers, why cant Airtel launch them officially for every one.I wont say i am very happy but for the time being i am happy lets see in future what kind of plans Airtel have in store.
