Unlimited broadband plans in India (no download limits at all)

I thought it was 150GB but maybe it depends on the speed tier... American ISPs are notoriously difficult to get information out of.

Anyway, like I've also said in other threads, I would understand the FUPs imposed by ISPs in India if the Fair Usage Policy limits were like they are in other countries (50, 100, 150+GB) at reasonable prices but for example 30GB for Rs1999 then it switches down to 1Mbit/s as Airtel has in Mumbai is just daylight robbery. They could easily make it 20Mbit/s with say 100-150GB Fair Usage Policy, then it drops to 256 or 512kbit/s for that price.

Ah. I stand happily corrected. I think if we were to introduce an FUP, we would word it similarly.

Did anyone notice any glaring errors in it? (I noticed at least 1, and I think an AT&T mobile customer had a legal battle over a similar error about a year ago).

naa as per my experience bsnl is ok but what makes it bad is high latency during daytimes, i have suffered a lot as it affects d/n as well. so dont use it :notallowed:

I dont think FUP is a big issue for american ISP's since a LOT of content is hosted locally . Herw , well its a different story .

It makes no difference. It's applicable to any and all data going over your line. Even if you were a comcast user and *only* got your data from other comcast users, it would still apply. What it does mean is that the cost to the ISP is therefore cheaper, since capacity in the US is a bit cheaper, so the profit margins are slightly higher

That's what i meant , the only reason comcast has a 250GB limit because they expect a large usage to be domestic thus earning profits .

you watch 1080P HD videos which consume 100mb per Minute with multiple videos streaming

plus your downloads and you trying to upload 24/7 on torrent websites to keep your ratio high

and using PS3 to download Large games,trailers

it can consume alot

it can make alot of difference it the usage is going to be domestic

like if you take NETFLIX for example


they provide unlimited movies,shows,documentry,anime FULL HD 1080p which consumes 100mb per minute for just $8 per month through your internet connection

there is no way they can provide that as they will get ripped apart cause of the bandwidth usage and charges

so they partnered with NETWORK operators in US so that it can be done locally and so very cheap as they would just be transferring bandwidth through their own networks



thats also one of the reason they haven't started their streaming services in other countries as if they did

they will then have bandwidth charges for their operator and their consumers Worldwide

Well, if you're talking about 1080p HD content, then maybe 250GB is not enough. But, otherwise 250GB is more than enough for all other requirements.
