Hi guys,I want some information regarding the internet service in Bangalore. I want an internet connection in Bangalore with an UPLOAD SPEED of atleast 256Kbps(Kilo bits/sec) or 32KBps(KiloBytes/sec) and reliable. We have BSNL broadband, but its just 64Kbps upload(max.). If you have heard of any internet service with such upload speed, plz let me know, thank you in advance.I checked with Airtel broadband, they don't have service in my locality. And BSNL customer service have no clues!!!Any leads will be greatly appreciated.thank youpartha

Hi,I was trying to upload something to link-removed but the upload speed is very less like 5 - 6 MAX. Can any one tell me why is it. I have seen people upload 20+ KB to link-removed ??Thanks.

ur connection is an adsl connection, which means that the upload speed is less than the download speed.. dataone has poor upload speeds.. i get about 8 kbps from my 256 connection which is comparable to what u are getting...

sify wasnt bad actually.. the problem was that there was so much downtime that i couldnt use it for most of the month :P first there would be issues with the ctos network when i couldnt ping my gateway.. the local sify network is mantained by a bunch of fools :D and then when the ctos network was working fine, there would be issues with the sify server.. the client would just give me an error message saying that it cant reach the server.. and when i didnt face these issues, my ip address would get hijacked.. and this when sify enforced mac binding, so the other person couldnt use it either :P some ppl are just dumb.. and lastly my lan card got fried TWICE due to power in the line.. plus all the other issues that the other ppl in the forum faced..

LOL same was with me.. sify was also the indicater of heavy rains.. But its upload speed was better than BSNL

I ran this test from Pondicherry, India. Its ADSL service provided by BSNL at 256 kbps. Download is around 256 kbps but upload should be 1/4th as its ADSL i.e 64 kbps. But I am getting only 28kbps. This is pathetic and I dont think Vonage will work. I will run the test at some other time to see if its the same upload speed again.

1. So, what are my alternatives in terms of other service providers or anything else?
2. What are your experiences with using vonage in India?
