Their highest package is somewhere around Rs.440/-. Then why are you paying 500 bucks?

I pay """close to 500/month""" isn't 440 close to 500? :)

@ Midhun.....

U can see how the SD channels look, at this link: https://broadband.forum/videocon-d2h-hd-dth/72248-videocon-d2h-sd-channels-mega/

U can see how the HD channels look, at this link: https://broadband.forum/videocon-d2h-hd-dth/72246-videocon-d2h-hd-channels-pics/

And a testimony for the signal level of D2h dishes, read this:

Today we had sudden torrential rains lasting for 2-3 hours straight in Mumbai. The intensity might have reduced slightly on few occasions, but it was crazy today. This kind of rainfall didnt occur even in main Monsoons this time. Still, the signal was disrupted just once for about 2-3 minutes, and after it restored, it never went back.
But yeah i have 90 cm Dish, so dont know how was the experience for others. I think Mascot has 65 cm dish, he wud tell his experience of today!

Same here too. As soon as rain increased, signal gt scrambled. Restarted STB after 2 minutes and it worked well.Offtopic:Bt thanks God due to this heavy rainfall, its a chilling nite tonite :D

Not bad. Not bad at all. Also considering those pictures were not a captured one and rather a photo of the video and the tv, the quality is sure to be slightly better than those images. Thanks guys for the links. Also D2H HD has the bigger dish, as a retailer told me.

Offtopic Again:
@IndianMascot If its raining there in Mumbai then it would take atleast 4-5 days for the rain to hit kerala.so still hot and humid here.

HD Zapper will come with 65 cm dish, and HD DVR will come with 90 cm dish. And the pics, courtesy Mr. Indian Mascot! And the rains......it was hot as hell here since last few days, so it had to rain! May b u might get as well, if its hot over there.

I got a D2h DVR installed on monday. I was using Dish TV SD earlier and also have a SUN dth. I too had apprehensions before buying D2h. But I dont regret my decision now. The quality is very good. I have signal and quality strength of 100%... (Thanks to this forum, I insisted on it). SD channels are way too better in quality when compared to Dish tv or Sun DTH. CC gets connected real quick. They are very prompt in responding to any complaints. I have seen Tata Sky DVR in my friends place and dont see any difference in the quality between Tata sky HD and D2h HD.

@ VVHReally D2H HD DVR SD channels are better than Dish TV SD Channels? Actually I use Dish TV & D2H SD box But D2H SD channels are very bad clarity. If you think D2H HD DVR's SD channels are better than Dish then I will continue to D2H HD DVR. Did u get 90 cm dish / smaller than it?Thanks.

@MAX. Yes D2h SD is better than my dish SD. The reason maybe because of HDMI cable, 100% signal strength in D2h (Dish was only about 70 - 80%) and also the 90 cm dish.Since DishTV uses the DD direct plus transponders for free to air channels, aligning it to get good signal is difficult.

True vvh which you talked about both DTH now my problem is I dont have HD TV & HDMI cable is no use for me even I move to D2H HD DVR for HD channels & record content & dont think without HDMI cable I get good quality. HDMI cable is main point about SD channel quality.

Actually you know / not but Signal strength is not reliable because of they shows it always 100% & I think its their policy. All depends on Signal quality.

Thanks.

D2H SD dish is maybe 72 cm.

Has the History Channel been added to D2H? Also how do you connect a Speaker set (computer speakers with 3.5mm pin) to S/PDIF or Optical Digital Audio out? My TV has only those as audio outputs. Or else I will have to connect the two red and white audio cords of av cable to the speakers. will that cause sync problems?
