Airtel to pay AGR dues of Rs 10,000 cr by Feb 20, balance by March 17 - ET Telecom

Bharti Airtel will pay an initial deposit of AGR dues of Rs 10,000 crore by 20 February to the government and will pay the balance amount by the next scheduled date of hearing in SC-March 17. Airtel has statutory dues of over Rs 35,000 crore to pay the government.

also i did read about how government would not ask the non telecom companies to pay their share of the dues. what's going on about that?

a gujarat based state owned company also owe shit ton of money. enough to cause its shutdown from what i remember reading.

It is not like they don't have money to pay , actually they don't want to pay... Just threatening the government.

To add to it, Vodafone took away all the profits indirectly, years ago. So, currently, they don't have cash reserves. Banks don't want to provide further loans, either, due to high NPA in recent times.
