What room heater to buy?

coming from gurgaon, i can totally relate to it. they say gurgaon people are currently paying the highest price for electricity. i am using a heater right now. and that is causing me heartaches. can anyone tell me about the oil based heaters? are they really effective? i am currently using a blower based thingy which is not very good. how expensive are the oil based heaters? how much power do they consumer? ^ starting a new thread for this question.

No i am saying go for a standard make... and the oil heater when i bought mine was expensive ... i hear you can get delonghi for 10k in india now .... the effect of the oil heater is proportional to the size of the room.. ... so bigger the room more expensive the heater..

i believe the Usha model you recommended is a heat convector. while the one i posted is a fan based heater.

what the hell is the difference between them?

i want to buy a room heater to prevent my little son from upcoming cold winter. i checked out in local market but they are mostly local brands.

i dont find much impressive web results either. not many ecom sites selling.

i finally found Bajaj Majesty RX 9 Heat convector Offer | Similar Products | Similar Brand | Similar Price - its a good deal and want to buy it but not sure how this Naaptol is - reliable or not. any idea or anybody bought from them? please share.

i buy mostly online from ebay, letsbuy (which is now flipkart), FirstCry, snapdeal etc.. but never bought anything from naaptol. please share your views about that company and even any better ROOM HEATER than what i have shown above.

i would suggest considering oil based heaters considering we are talking about a baby here. :\ others should have a better idea.

these instant heating solutions are known to cause massive depletion in room humidity which is probably not healthy.

i bought one of these as mentioned in the linked thread. it was hard to see if it was working at all. it takes more than an hour or so for it to become effective in a large room. and it does not drop the temperature of the room drastically.

like admin said using filament heaters causes drop in humidity
never used those heaters in home but used them when i was overseas , small portable electric filament heaters
they cause dry skin and littl breathing discomfort , but with auto temp setting prob can be overcome
but ur case being a baby , u can go for heaters with humidity controllers which are bit costly
