SNR Margin (dB): 30.2dn ........... 27.6 upAttenuation (dB): 32.0 dn.............. 13.6 upAttainable Rate (Kbps): 14619 dn ............. 1213 upI felt attenution value is more and complained in exchange , they checked line in exchange and said lines are not good and they will come on monday to rectify the problem ....

SNR Margin --> 35.0 - 28.0 dbLine Attenuation --> 26.0 - 14.6 dbData Rate --> 4096 - 509 kbpsAttainable Rate --> 22016 - 556 kbpsOut Power --> 18.3 - 11.3 dbm

What about mine?

SNR (Downstream) 34.5db
SNR (Upstream) 22.5db
Line Attentuation(Downstream) 12.0db
Line Attentuation(Upstream) 5.5db

Data Rate 2040 Kbps 510 Kbps

sorry for stealing the thread....how is my connectivity? - Reliance wireline broadband

SNR should be greater than 11 and line attenuation is lesser than 40.
It means that your line is good but data rate looks bounded as per tariff. Really, reliance is very niggard. RL does not want to give any additional kbps.
I am surprised because yor line quality is very good whereas data rate looks limited.

You were right. My Billion ADSL Router help section has this...

So what should be done to lower the SNR. I know i can't do anything on my side.

Reliance is very clever. They definitely set SNR from DISLAM which limits your speed as per your tariff.

I beg to differ here. They are not clever. They dont know what they are doing? Yesterday after my complaint a technician called me up for the exact location of my house & he didn't turn up as promised. Today i called the CC(he told me that he know nothing about SNR ratio) & came to know that he has informed & closed the complaint saying that i'm then getting full speed. Like most of the reliance users mentioned in this forum it goes in loop. Complaint to CC-> technician says everything is fine->complaint closed & again everything back to square one.

The engineers who come at our doors are not well knowledgeable. They are just trained employees. High authorities know every thing. I experienced this with my existing company. I have wimax and when I talked with senior engineers, he knows everything but company has to change/upgrade their systems or cables if they want to give better performance. We are thinking that how do they run company? They have not enough knowledge but every company knows everything and problems even solutions also but they can not discuss with their customers.
