many of you have said use night manager, the main problem with night manager is you cannot use link-removed or other file sharing sites where code has to be verified. In such a case you have to stay up and wait for each 100MB download to complete. Most of the night managers just do not function correctly, they all have some shortcoming or the other.

^^That is true as long as i know. It could possibly work only with torrents. Try free download manager, it has worked fairly for me from a long time though.

dear @netlogixs,
"night manager" here means a s/w which can manage ur connection during night (02-08) free usage time, not ur downloads.

u r talking about "download managers", for scheduling link-removed downloads u have two options, either u purchase a premium account or try some link-removed download managers.

currently i forgot the name, but there are s/w's available which can automatically do the code verification and download from link-removed, u just search about it over google and try some s/w's.

there is no need for any code verification now for RS downloads but free users will get very less speeds of ~20-40KBps which means you will take ~1 hour to download a 100MB file.there are softwares which can automate this free downloading but what's the point in downloading 6 100MB files using such softwares.even with a 2mbps UL plan you will only be able to download 24 files in 24 hours meaning around 2.4GB in 24 hours while using premium you can download 4.5GB in 6 hours of free time.so the conclusion is if you are not a RS premium user it doesn't matter if you have 2-8AM free time,12-8AM free time or unlimited at 2mbps if you want to download a lot from RS.UL plans are most suitable for heavy torrent users who just occasionally use RS.

Be happy with what u r getting.

You see, that is the main problem. If one is satisfied with what he/she has, then how are things going to change/improve? :|

Oh, what's next?

5 Mbps with 5 GB limit? :P

Just be grateful that they allow unlimited-uncharged usage between 0200-0800. They use sight time because this is when usage is typically low. In future I can see night unlimited facility being removed.

I think the best way would be to have two NU slots i.e., from 8PM to 2AM and another from 2AM to 8AM with half the total users opting for any one NU slot on a first come first served basis. BSNL might even consider rotating the users in one slot to the other slot every 3 months or so.

U guyz pay 500 bucks for NU plan, and we MTNL mumbai subscribers pay 849 p/m. THats d difference, either accept what u have or b ready to pay extra!

Yes true that you have to pay 849/- for NU plan, but MTNL does count uploaded data in your case. Whereas BSNL even counts uploaded data so it comes to the same thing as far as payment is concerned. correct ??
