update: purchased the s3G stick, but network is yet to get 3G enabled, it will work on non 3G speeds currently. :evil:Waiting for the activation as it may take a day or two.

I've already purchased it, due to some issues I ignored Reliance this time.

I don't know if my USB stick is locked or its unlocked but will try to find it out.

Updated 19th-Dec/00:30hrs
I was able to find out My device is unlocked :)

anyway today i bought BSNL 3G SIM, and the USB Modem accepted the card, detected the signal (on 3G the status light on USB Stick glows BLUE)
as BSNL will take 24 hours for enabling internet, I am waiting for it to complete and start using both.

However Ran 6 hour continuous session on VODAFONE, and their network is much more stable than RIM.
it didn't even slept for a single second, and speed was same all the time.
I was getting 20+ kbps on downloads.

Hey,So you are now using bsnl 3g sim on vf 3g usb modem. How's the speed & performance? Can you access net when u r traveling? Pls let me know.cheers!

I've not yet tried BSNL as you know, it was a weekend the 3G services didn't activated last time i checked on Saturday morning.

Voda speed is good, it doesn't disconnects or sleeps like reliance does.
however I am sure 3G will only be available once the govt. completes the long pending auction of 3G Spectrum, no spectrum to allocate, no services to extend.

while advanced countries are now moving to 4G, we are stuck with govt. policies on 3G.

Just to let anyone help who needs to decide on this one.

I am happy with this USB stick and its far better than my earlier Reliance 1x Data Card.

This is Cool Man..have tried it on Roaming??What about the BSNL 3G Compatibility??

Yes, it works fine on roaming too.Even on highways, it was connecting without problems.I used it for hours in Delhi, Agra, Kanpur, i feel its worth every penny.for BSNL still need to test, I am unable to give time to my 3G experiment on BSNL, but i did made 2 video calls and it was working.will try to use this modem with BSNL SIM in a day or two and post the results.
