@soulroute though the resentment is growing they will get a decent customer base due to thier coverage in the tier-3 cities and towns where there is no competition.
Even though they won't get numbers they projected, still they'll get a decent number of subscribers to stay relevant in the business.

I believe it should not be all about making money. Yes, eventually Jio is gonna end up profitable. What about morality, the ethos, the commitment to satisfy customers fair and square? I am afraid Jio has failed big time. Launching paid plans without proper planning and execution capacity is no less than a war crime.

@soulroute Their service and attidude is getting like RCom broadband. Now just threatening calls from 'lawyers' remain

Doubt it right now unless the mobile prices rise too high. Very few people will take the connection. They should have tried to milk money by providing cheap service and getting money on content. Most people won't get more than hd Youtube or occasional film or TV show. And even BSNL might be better for that kind of stuff where you need more data

As responsible internet consumers, let us spread the bad-will as much as possible for this cheat company to avoid our other friends to fall in this trap. I am now much firm on keeping Airtel DSL as my secondary connection even if Jio launches unlimited plans at 699 bucks. I have already expressed my nightmares with RCOM long back in this same thread and Jio is just cloning them now on every aspect.

I just don't understand the business model of the big ISPs. Why can't they give unlimited data or at least reasonable FUP like those given by the small players. They can gain more customers and hence more profit this way no? They have the infrastructure, they have peering with all major content providers. So data is not too costly for them.

At the cost of repetition, I have few questions for Jio to reflect upon:

1. For a normal user, even 100mbps speed suffices for watching stunning quality 4K content without buffering. The free preview offer gives ample data for a consumer to enjoy comfortable viewing and working.
2. The only USP of paid plans was supposed to be IPTV and subscription to premium streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar Premium and Zee 5 etc. In its present form, Jio 4K set box is absolutely rubbish. There is nothing in it. No Netflix, no Amazon Prime, no Hotstar Premium and no Zee 5 and most importantly, fabled IPTV (Live TV channels such as Colors HD and so on). Even with 250 mbps speed the buggy Sony Liv app keeps buffering with its fistful of live channels. There is no point having a 250 mbps plan without adequate services. So silver above plans are total eye wash.
3. Why did Jio launch paid plans and made me purchase gold plan worth INR 1299 + GST every month when there is nothing worthwhile to offer? A free preview offer would have greatly sufficed and performed extremely well with a cheap Amazon Firestick which has everything in it including support for installing 3rd party apps such as Kodi etc. As a matter of fact, I can watch over 1000 free channels live through my fire stick from all over the world. I even showed (Laxman and Karan from Jio) some Jio movie channels running live on my fire stick through a 3rd party unofficial app.
4. I strongly believe that Jio has made paid plan customers suffer like anything. I challenge any Jio official to visit my place and prove me wrong. It’s a total fraud in its present form.
5. Anyone from Jio who proves me wrong will get a free brand new 4K 43 inch TV as a gift from me, I guarantee. My service ID details are with Jio through my tweet on Twitter at the rate soulroute

Last but not the least, Jio should not charge a single rupee from its paid customers until the launch of IPTV (the only unique thing) and free subscription to all premium streaming services. Let’s spread the word, I request all. Thanks.

Phew!

P.S. I have tweeted this on Twitter (same ID). Please help retweet. Much obliged.
