This refundable amount is against the intrest of the consumer. Why are they even naming it as a trial? When you are paying them the amount that costs 500 for router and 1000 for STB and 1000 for first month so called “TRIAL” internet plan. Disconnection after trial will deduct the cost of the one month internet plan which is around 1000 and they basically have the rest of the deposit with them until you insist for a disconnection which most people aren’t going to if they do opt one. Other ISP’s offer you free router when you opt for quarterly or half yearly plan like airtel did for me without any installation charges what so ever which gives better value proposition. So they‘re basically getting 1500 to 500 INR per connection as free capital rightly deceiving public in the name of trial and deposit. This deposit only gets refunded if customer safe guards all the accessories along with the box which i doubt most of the people would do.

Well agree with you generally but if a customer cancels within the 30 day trial then he/she is supposed to get the entire deposit refunded.
no accessory is given or returned except the modem and the charger. If you get the STB then you need to return that along with its remote. That’s all. No one is likely to lose that.

Haha. They are much worse than BSNL in fooling the customers. BSNL never closed any PGPortal complaint without resolving it for me.

So you still have not received the refund? Its making me worried. It has only been 2 days since they took the modem. It seems either you get it in a week or it gets delayed for a long time.

I think yours is prepaid. if it is, then you will receive in less than a week. If nothing goes wrong. (wrong entry of bank details, like that)

It has now been 6 days since they took my modem. I am getting worried as the one week is tomorrow. I got a call from Jio Head Office and the person claimed it would be credited in 30 working days. He claimed they need to test the health of the modem and STB. After that they also marked my complaint as closed.
