Anyone using 1&1 broadband? Would like to know if they are still supporting Akamai/Torrent cache/pipelining as wells about their service.

Yes they support akamai , torrent cache is also supported but speed is capped at 4 MBps max , and what do you mean by pipelining ?

The youtube videos playing at LAN speed is done through pipelining i.e. using a separate bandwidth to send the data.
Anyway, do we need to mention that we need HNS or they provide it by default ?

Yes yes all google services are at LAN speed , this includes upload too , uploading videos to youtube and google drive uploads too . HNS is by default i think .

very happy with the connection! best things about it:

- youtube (and google services) caching! i download a lot of youtube vids, and at speeds exceeding 2mbps while downloading them, its like a boon!

- better upload speeds than MTNL (although they keep fluctuating; have to talk about this with the LCO. had forgot the last time).

till now the connection has been very stable, uptime-wise as well as speed-wise.

anyone else experiencing this? torrent-downloads are at normal speeds, but http downloads' speeds have increased.

So far loving the upload speed they provide , easy to upload video on youtube .
