ACT broadband in Chennai

Three to four months back, i was switched from a truly unlimited 1mbps in the day 2mbps in the night plan to a 2mbps with 50gb fup plan. after the plan change the fup was never enforced for 2 to 4 months and suddenly they are enforcing it
 
Why Wired is ALWAYS better than Wireless (at least on 2.4GHz).
I was getting 448ms at times.

@uberjon can I suspend my airtel connection temporarily? I want to try out act as Im getting fupped frequently. You have had the connection for a while now can you tell me how it is?
 
I don't know if airtel does that.
You will have issues one in a while with ACT, but I recommend getting it. Go for it.
 
I live in Mylapore (near mylapore tank) and using ACT for past 4 months. Here many of my neighbours are using ACT. I am happy that I haven't faced any problem at all. Using the 60GB FUP plan. So, if any of you are thinking of switching, go ahead and try it for a month or two then cancel your backup connection. :rofl:

Wow. Consistent 150 ms pings to Europe... I play bf4 on Europe servers all the time and such a ping would be like a dream to me..
But I'm at Neelankarai and ACT is not here yet. Hope they come here soon. Only tikona available right now and the Ping varies a lot :(
 
@ uberjon I never thought of BSNL as I assumed it fluctuates a lot and its data limit is very less. I'll give it a try.
BF4 have servers in Asia (must be Singapore or Hong Kong, not sure where) but i have never seen players on them. Neither with BF3. I play on Xbox 360, may be Asia is more of a PC players and Play station players.
I tried adjusting the roof top box of Tikona to get 4 bars (the box has lights for signal strength). it was initially 3 bars. Now i get better pings. 160 to 180 after 1 AM. Less than 200ms on days except on peak hours. Packet loss still exists. May be this will hold up till ACT gets to Neelankarai. Any idea on their expansion plans. where they are going next? Its been a year since they came to Thiruvanmiyur and in the 1 year they havent gone any further south.
