This is a dedicated thread for discussion of Airtel Xstream Fiber in Assam. Users can post their feedback/questions here.

From Guwahati. I recently got my connection and they charged me 2829(Rs 799 plan for 3 months + GST). It took 3 days to get the connection. I got a dual-band router for free( Nokia G-2425G-A). The ONT+Router that they give you is just okay but not great, the WIFI range is not that great = so I connected my old Tenda router to get better range.

Speeds are decent and you get the full speed on Google Drive, OneDrive, Box etc... But I have noticed that it is difficult to get the full speeds on torrent. I use a few different private torrent trackers - and torrent speeds never go beyond 40mbps(with good amount of seeders). Other than that, everything else is fine. No downtimes(using it for last 1 month, no issues with 4k Netflix) and no sudden speed drops. I have attached the speedtest results below. So, how is your experience on Airtel Broadband in Guwahati/Assam ?

Below are the speeds on 5Ghz(left) and Speed on 2.4Ghz(right) :

Also, since last few days i am not able to see plan details in Airtel thanks app, are you also facing the same ?

I think that the landline facility has been activated by Airtel in Guwahati. The VOIP light on my router is turned on permanently now.

@sayangr yes. location wise Airtel is taking over installation and support from the LCO's.
LCO will only deploy and maintain the main fibre cable coming to the box, other than that, all service request are handled by Airtel's own engineers.

i recently requested Static IP. Airtel engineers came to my place. they expalined that location wise they are taking over, and in 6 months they will take over whole Guwahati.

Hi there . Greetings everyone. Planning to get Airtel xstream this month. Currently on Jiofiber. would like to know which ONT is preferred? I got to know that zte/Nokia is being given currently. Moreover is there any voip sip setup guide that does the same job as JioJoin app for Calling. Thanks

@droidrex i got to know from Airtel engineers that ZTE ONT is preferred, coz of the ease of configuration. U can change WLAN channels, plus most of the settings are unlocked in ZTE as compared to Nokia. I had Nokia initially and i wanted static IP, airtel backend team were unable to configure Nokia ONT. They replaced to ZTE to provide Static IP. As u can delete/ create WAN connections easily in ZTE. Also i never got IPV6 in Nokia ONT. .After Airtel changed the ONT to ZTE i got ipv6
I am not sure about Voip sip config on Xstream.

@Khalidahmed8 thank you so much for the prompt reply. I really appreciate it. So i should go for the ZTE ONT. How is the range of that ONT anyways?
Moreoever i heard somewhere in this thread that switching to static ip gives more speed than the plan speed? is that true

Ok. @godmad I really appreciate if you have any instructions setting up voip on the ZTE ONT. thank you
