Using a Nexus One and Nexus-S -
So I never expect to get Gprs/3G settings by SMS or with any one in customer service in most companies. :madness:
Have to search in the net/blogs like this and set it up.:imbored:
Right now Vodaphone trials are going on in Chennai.
I dont know what VMC and "live " you guys are talking about!
Since Vodaphone is not among my 2 permanent numbers-I got a Voda prepaid sim for Rs 10.! ( Rs 65 talk time !!

)
Even after sending "ACT 3g" by sms and getting confirmation of 3G activation by sms with in 30 minutes ,signal changed from "E" to "3G" only after 4-8 hours (over night).
First activated GPRS 200 mb/3 days-Rs 14 pack from the phone and when 3G was rocking ,went down to phonewallah and charged Rs 98/2GB/30 days GPRS pack.
Getting 4 to 4.75 Mbps in Chennai (main road ,city centre and not inside colony).
2GB almost gone in 3 days. This feast (3g in gprs cost) may last for another week max!!
These are my successful Voda APN settings for
