Its certainly not a good news for all sun direct subscribers, as from today sun direct has increased their base pack price for all south and north customers.For South Customers: Freedom pack price increased from Rs.75+ tax to Rs.99+ taxFor North Customers: Shine pack price increased from Rs.99+tax to Rs. 120 + taxAlready Sun direct is very costly earlier also and now with the increase in their base pack prices Sun Direct would become the most costly DTH.

Hmm... its high time government introduce inter operability between DTH operators. If customer do have the option to switch DTH provider without changing the instrument, like changing the SIM card of mobile, no DTH provider will dare to raise beyond a normal level.
the regulations are already there. they were supposed to be implemented in december last year. the regulations also included that the dth service provider would have to take back the hardware with a partial refund. nothing actually happened.

If this news is true, then it is a very bad news for Sun Direct users.
Those who said Sun Direct has the cheapest Base Pack price have to rethink abt saying the same in the future
Compare it with Rs.120 in TS with lot of missing channels. At present Sun is cheapest. But dishtv has more channels for around the same price.

If that comes into effect then all the dths will cost nearly the same and we can move to any dth as we want :yahoo: But it is not happening and won't happen until money stops flowing to the concerned ministries :wall:

Well Dishtv not only having more channels infact having better channels as well then what sun direct is giving like for south Dishtv have all sports channels in base pack along with all the channels of the particlular language zone which you have selected.

Suarbh reply should have cleared your doubt. Sun tv is still cheapest. I said Sun is not the costliest DTH as said by Surabh. And you asked how Tatasky came here. That is because I wanted to tell Surabh that SD is not the costliest and there is another lesser known dth called Tatasky which is costly. As yourself has accpeted that Tata Sky DTH is the costliest.
Dish tv is cheaper option if we take Tamil channels + Sports channels but Vijay tv is missing. For that you need to pay additional. So people who just want Tamil channels and not interested in sports, Dish tv is costly.
But for people who also likes sports then Dish tv is cheap compared to Sun tv. But they will miss Vijay tv.
