Understood. I'm currently stuck with the Alphion ASEE-1447 which (imho) is severely underpowered.
I see 2 options for me and option 2 is what prompted my question.
Option 1. (preferred) Have Airtel enable bridge mode, then connect a router like the GL.iNet Beryl AX (or a Flint 2) to the bridged port, and configure PPPoE with their VLAN id (100 per the Alphion UI) on it. I'd be satisfied with this and have full flexibility on the router.
Option 2. (fallback, if Airtel won't enable bridge mode) Replace the ONT with a 3rd party ONT. I understand a lot less here in picking a compatible and good unit. I saw you (tr1k0N4) recommended the TP-Link XX530v in a different thread with some caveats. Can this replace the Alphion ASEE-1447? You mentioned "no support for IPv6 VoIP and IPv6 address not being assigned to Mobiles etc". I do care a lot about IPv6 (but no VoIP). What happens with IPv6 addresses and mobiles? What other issues? I do link TP-Link units, so perhaps there's another model without these limitations?
