now try this dns 218.248.255.141 /218.248.255.139
dns advantage is very laggy. I gave it on purpose to bypass traaffic.

or keep it in automatic mode.
else use google dns.

got a call in the morning (which woke me up basically). the guy wanted to know if my connection was delivered. confirmed. also told him that i am getting slow speeds. he said to check in the evening as speed profile might not be set properly. i hope he would get it fixed and was not saying it for the sake of it :D now i would have to wait till tomorrow to call if speeds are not fixed in the evening. :\

lol. dumping the connection looks like the final destination for this connection. i would call this Manoj dude tomorrow.

it's a shame considering they have done a pretty good job with wiring (line condition).

so basically this happens on speed test. it starts at a good pace but crawls in the end.

You seem to be on nib-1 59.*.*.* ip range.You should be on nib-2 117.*.*.* ip range for 4Mbps.

mmm. you did not say if they fixed your problem?

i mean the problem is not with my line. the problem is with raw speed. speedtest.net starts decent at around 2-2.5mbps but crawls down to 1mbps by the time the test finishes. :)
I was getting slow speeds so called them. Yea..they indeed solved my problem. Even beam guys and tikona guys asked for chai money but not these BSNL guys.

seems MTNL/BSNL both are full of shit. My MTNL connection has gon offline again DSL light and all is there but net wont connect. This happens every 3rd day or so and like now I am left without any BB connection. Only way to fix it is wait till morning and then call the dam MTNL babus to reset it from their side and it connects back again. This is just annoying !

Incorrect. I've been on 8+ mbps plans and have been allocated the 59.x.x.x range from 117.x.x.x. Plus, from my experience, this only happens if your plan price is 2k or above. In this case, it's well over 2k.

@Chromaniac,

Unfortunately, the 59.x.x.x range is heavily mismanaged so expect poor pings to poor speeds and everything impossible you can think of. I was on this specific plan which you subscribed and moved back to 1700 (4mbps up-to 100gb) within 2 days as I lost access 117.x.x.x range and speed was pathetic, even when my port sync rate was setup properly.

While I can't guarantee the above to be same for you (since, different states) - I recommend waiting until your port sync rates are setup properly. They should be more than 5mbps down and around 1mbps up. Here's the speed you should be getting :

P.S, no need to be jealous of the speed and ping above, they are crappy in the morning (around 2mbps/200+ pings)
