the google analytics are based on real time(1-2min) and the forum one is based on 15 min including
and i think ipb too counts users over the period of 10-15 mins + they might also have problems with sending too many notification emails from their servers

I mean if they are going to count the active users as the number visible on the forum homepage, I am not going to take their hosting. The number is nowhere near correct as it include search engine spiders. Now I expect Google to detect them properly, IPB? Not so much.

Google number does not count people who use script blockers. It is also not perfect in detecting that the user is left. I see myself in the logs minutes after I have shut down the browser tab. I think it waits for a while before clearing inactive users as well.

I think they will include spiders too as they also consume some server resources

lol. if that is the case, they would probably need to stop offering the smaller plans because any forum with more than a few months of content would keep spiders busy 24x7.

Arey already paid for the basic pack. Sales pitch do not show you the real picture. That's why the plan is to run the forum on their platform for a few days. Might be a bumpy ride.
