As a matter of fact I was just checking if there's a dark theme installed and saw 'AMOLED' before I even saw this thread. +1

so @Nishant wanted a pure dark theme and he created one. available from bottom left with the name amoled. there are a few minor issues that needs to be fixed. if you use forum regularly, you would be able to use it just fine. one of the link bar does not have colors correct. i would see if i can fix that.
How do i differentiate the threads that have been updated since my last visit. In normal theme, they are bold.

i thought i copied the custom css to that theme. let me check. this was supposedly fixed in xenforo i think.

which section are you talking about? unread threads are appearing bold to me in the amoled theme.

yeah. i know how this could be happening. i am using a preloader script (instant.page) that preloads the page when you hover your cursor or even tap but do not leave on a link. so it's likely that you hovered on these links and they preloaded in the background marking them as read. i never thought of this before and i can see how this could create confusion.

try hovering your cursor on an unread link for a second or two and then refresh to see if that thread becomes read without actually opening.

to prevent this behavior i would have to remove the instant.page script. that is something i do not really want to do because it really improves browsing experience on the forum. would think about it.

I think the majority of the members use smartphones for viewing the forum. So the cursor may not be a problem but hovering over the links cannot be stopped.

it is actually harder to do on phone compared to on a desktop browser. you have to literally tap on a link but not open it. like you think of opening a link. you put your thumb on it. but instead of pressing on it, you slide away your finger to not open that link.

on desktop browser, you just have to place your cursor over a link. nothing else required.

read this page for details.
