I am still getting mails randomly for thread replies. I have disabled in preferences. Anywhere else I need to remove mail option?

Just wanted to say that give me a bit more of time. I am still learning this piece of crap software and am frustrated by the missing images. I would have to run the old install for backup and keep on adding images from the old code in relevant places as I come across them.

I would look into adding more themes tonight. I would try to replace the smiley pack too. The options I found on the XenForo database were super bad to be frank. I guess I can spend 30 minutes bringing back to old smilies :\

Hmm.. So subscribing a thread = mails only?

I think subscription setting is not uniform for all threads. You can subscribe for mail alerts on individual threads. Just change the subscription as you get mails from older threads.

At the bottom of the mail alert:

If you no longer wish to receive these emails, you may disable emails from this thread or disable all emails.

Ah, got it. I was hoping that option would be there at the site itself..

it does link to an option on the site. it appears there is a unified setting for disabling all email alerts from threads.
