LOL, I've plenty, I so wished I could try hands on before I finally decide to buy, I may have an opportunity to get it from the US around Jan end. Since I'm an x-iOS user, I not very sure of putting so much money on android so I'm really really confused, sometimes I'm like 5 mins close to buy myself a cheaper optimus one, but then stop thinking another 12k can get me nexus S. I live on synchronised google apps, so google apps push mails, synchronised contacts & calendars is a must for me. I do lot of google maps navigation, facebook, twitter, runkeeper, gps-navigation, and VoIP clients. So any detailed feedback on them would be great. How is battery life ? I'm not much of a camera on the phone user, nor games.

battery life has been similar to what i saw on nexus one. it seems to survive one day full with data on. android 2.3 seems to have added a graph of battery status. i notice that the graph remains flat when data is off. but falls pretty fast if the data is turned on. with data on and heavy usage, i am pretty sure that one day is going to be too hard to achieve. but casual usage of data should be manageable. in the end, its the display which eats up maximum battery life. so the amount of time it is on, the fast the battery would drain out. i have never used an iPhone so i cannot compare. but i see a similar drop in battery on the ipod touch used by wife.

O yes, iPhone was a similar battery drain, I had to keep one of those external battery packs with me when travelling. I guess most smart phones are the same as far as battery goes, dont know what keeps them from putting in more juice inside.

well... a lot of people believe that there are major conspiracy regards to batteries. battery companies have a lot to lose if they make better batteries which provides better backup and longer life! similar to printer inks and oil. they might already have the technology to offer much better batteries. but they are the ones who lose out in the end!

True. Another benefit with the nexus S is field replaceable batteries Vs the iPhone, god save me if my batteries give up on the iphone 4 in India. Are you happy with google maps & GPS outdoors on the NS ? overall if given a chance now to return the phone, would you return it and buy something else?

well yeah. replaceable battery is good i suppose. i am planning to buy this... ZAGG | ZAGGsparq 2.0 | iPhone Charger | iPad® Charger | Portable Battery Charger

not very keen on carrying a second battery. this is a good alternative.

as for GPS and google maps. google maps navigation does not work in india. google maps is similar to what i had on the nexus one. though nexus s has better support for multi-touch gestures. so that's cool.

gps indoors seems to be worse compared to nexus one but then samsung phones have had that issue for a while now. htc seems to do good with gps on their phones. the phone takes a bit too long to locate me using gps indoors. not so much difference on the road.

the largest display makes the maps look good on this compared to N1.

some of the disadvantages i found in NS compared to N1?

no trackball. i am not a fan but the trackball had a light that was a good indicator of missed calls and sms. in this, there is just sound and vibrate. so no visual way.

it also seems to miss an indicator for battery. n1 had a small display that showed orange (during charging) and green when it was charged. this phone? u have to turn the display on to see how much charging has been done. very annoying.

well. generally speaking there are mostly visual differences. instead of curves they are using boxes. black theme is much better than the white theme for the toolbar at the top. of course, most phones come with custom themes already so only stock android users are likely to notice it. it has SIP support, i have no use for that. it seems to have added a graph for battery usage as i mentioned before. that seems to be new to 2.3 (not sure) and it does come handy showing what actually is causing a lot of battery usage. overall, there is not much of a difference. except for visual changes here and there.

Samsung manufactured nexus s = Poor plastic quality is expected
Also lower battery life.

I am getting a score of ~980 in Quadrant. Can you install "Quandrant Standard" from Market and run full benchmark?

haha. i would do that when the phone is fully charged. currently it is nearing 15%. i am trying to do the so called battery conditioning thingy on it. full charge and discharge till 8% and then full charge. :D
