I am not making any claims Would update if and when I get more information.makes sense though. both of these companies are struggling and neither have launched a nexus branded devices. having two nexus devices would double the options available to interested consumers. and boost the visibility for these two companies. maybe LG (and Sony too) would realize that there is a good demand for devices with stock android and they would change their own strategy for future models!
