Well it works in Gujarat for me. We hav heavy rains in Gujarat but I hardly lost signals for more than 2 min. DD channels missing when heavy rain but its not part of Dish.Excellent work by Dish TV for me.

how do you guys your television sets now?

two remotes? one to turn on the tv and go to the av mode. another to control the dish tv?

You can stop using your TV remote if you switch the whole setup on and off from the Mains Switch. Just set the TV to switch on in AV Mode.

btw. do u guys turn off the stb? or put it in standby mode?

I Turn off both the TV and the STB from the mains. Standby mode in the STB consumes almost as much power as when it is switched on. (That's what I figured for my Tata Thomson STB - maybe Dish TV STB would have same problem?

sad. i dont have a remote for the tv itself. so i have to turn it on manually. set it to AV mode. turn on the STB. :P

Well i have my TV always set to AV mode and no need of pressing the AV button on TV remote everytime i switch ON the TV.I just leave the STB on standby mode when i watch something from DVD player.I feel very easy to navigate and UI is friendly :)just select the channels u watch most on favourites 1 and save it.you can also program the STB to show the right channel at the right time(4 TV programs max).

coz of the channels.coz of 6 months free subscription.works fine for me. i get my star world and shin chan dose.

How do you set your TV to switch on in AV mode ? I have an Akai model which i got under exchange scheme but i have lost it's manual.

For me, I simply switch off both TV and STB from the mains while TV is in AV mode (ie. while the DTH connection is on). When I switch it on, it automatically comes on in AV mode and STB/ DTH also starts automatically. So it switches on directly on Tata Sky

i am not electronic engg or anything.. but switching on/off TV directly from mains cud possibly blow away fuse of TV. (may be tube too?). not sure but other members can confirm if it involves risk.
