Have we reached a saturation point for broadband speeds in India?

in India we follow a top down approach. So unless the big players do it the small players wont. Id take sub ms latency over 2gig anyday tho but we all know that aint happening.

Who knows maybe it will

I mean just a few years ago 100mbps was the flagship broadband speed

Look how it has become so common now

We will see new player offering multigig speed, these giants will not bring in 2gbps on GPON as newer ont is required and jio uses same ont for all, airtel has multiple onts standardised for all connections but not for 2gbps. I think smaller isp might bring in 2gbps on gpon and with that competition will start again and we will see 6ghz band delicenced as jio/airtel will no longer be against it

1gbps or 2gbps doesn't matter, first quality needs to improve, dips due to congestion, routing issues should be prioritized. Every single JIO Fibre user I know complains about these issues. Airtel is somewhat better in these regards.

Internet without DPI would be great to have

I have always noticed how images on websites load faster with proton VPN then without

Thanks to DPI I guess

If no small players are interested to make some money then ig we will surely see Jio or its likes to someday drop 2 gig individual cheaper connections and kid you all not, RJIL got tons of money to change their infra within a month maybe 4 months max then even after whining all the small players will get eradicated, like we saw in telco space. Act fast evolve fast or just get weed out.

If not now Jio will surely do this in future to get rid of regional players who are slacking off now.

Jio doesn't know this! Jio will deploy the lco model or will buyout the players or tieup. But regional players will get crushed for sure. High time these players should rise up
