DSL will no doubt play a big role and will have a 2 to 3cr. base, rationalization of RoW:beer: by dec due to ntp11 will also help pvt. ops to expand.
DSL already has a significant portion of the market share - around 75% is the generally accepted figure. But 2-3Cr from the current figures is too much to expect realistically in that timeframe (by EoY 2012)
RoW won't change much. Part of the reason prices are so high in cities like Mumbai is because of a vicious cycle.
Public: We want more connectivity!
Operators: OK, we'll dig up roads!
BMC: Sure, operator X, dig up some roads and lay more cables!
Public: Our roads are crap and there's too much work going on which is causing me to be late for work!
BMC: Operators are digging up the roads too much and there's too many complaints from the public and it makes us look bad. We're going to raise the prices to discourage such behaviour!
Operators: Then we have to increase tariffs or otherwise restrict the service to make it viable!
Public: Our connectivity is too expensive and crap! We want more connectivity!
Rinse, lather, repeat.
Cable is again sure to pick up in a big way due to digitization
ill:, no. are difficult to guess but cities which didn't have the concept of cablewala bb will slowly see it's onset.
Yes and no. Depends on the type of cable. If we're talking "cable" like most cablewalas have (glorified ethernet services), then maybe not. If we're talking about HFC like Hathway has, then there is the opportunity there for 2 & 3-play services to begin operating nicely
LTE :warning:also has to be kept under bb category hence the true BB will be close to 50-60% if targets are reached.
It just won't. After some 3-4 years, sure, but in 12 months? Maybe not.

Are the plans for Delhi launch going en route too as planned which is suppose to happen in December???
Where did you get December from? An old post perhaps: for about the past month or so I've been saying that Delhi will not happen until Q1 2012, but even that's not firm because we want to actually launch first and 999999% efforts are being poured in to that.

So do u really think the draft NTP and all the hue and cry from TRAI etc. regarding RoW is just a passing affair. Charges are going to be down that's for sure due the lobbying of biggie's but it will come with restrictions. like dig once and put all utilities at one go logic.

If anything, charges will go up. But the whole "dig once and put all utilities in at one go" thing is a fantastic idea. And it might make the quality of roads better, especially in Mumbai!!

Yes and no. There needs to be the Rs200-300 level plans, but they won't be unlimited and they won't be fast. For it to be *really* successful it needs to enable people to improve their situation which means better connectivity to businesses (small and large) and plans ranging from the low to the high to suit everyone... that is, the range of Broadband speeds needs to be from say 512k right up to 100+mbit/s as it is elsewhere, and you just buy whatever suits your needs and/or budget.
