BTW if your device more than 7 days old, then service center people wont give you DOA certificate right? then you cant get replacement from your seller(BTP)!

heh. is 7 day an official date to seek a replacement? :)

then i would send them a wikipedia article about how infrared is supposed to be invisible to the naked eye :)

We are really sorry to hear that the product has a manufacturing defect. I request you to check with the nearby authorized HTC service station so that they will resolve the issue if the issue is not resolved at their end i suggest you to get a D.O.A certificate from the service station so that we will take care of the issue.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. We have contacted the concerned department even they have suggested to wait for one week. At this point of time, I suggest you to check with the nearby authorized HTC service station so that they will resolve the issue. If it is not done please do let us know we be glad to assist you.

These are the responses from buytheprice.com support team. I like these. :)

^thats what they told me when i had problem with the Flyer and if it goes beyond that period, as per the warranty policy, they will repair it:( so its better to get the replacement now itself. As per the this link, someone already got DOA certificate, though issues is different altogether.

well the problem with me is that the dim red light simply disappeared when i reached the store. it was on while i was driving to the place. sheer bad luck. in any case, the service center guys were pretty clear. they cannot see the problem with the phone. they do not have the diagnostic software to check the phone. they cannot really do much about it. in practical terms i showed them a device that was working perfectly. no distortion on the display. no glowing sensor light. what was i supposed to do? :) also... i am going to try out my luck with the company. hoping to get them to do something about it. i have had some success with Dell. little success with apc. now it's HTC's turn!

HTC india facebook should be working well, at least in my case, they responded immediately and everything went smooth..even followup was good!

Hope chetan31 & scorpion also pitch in with their feedback here...
I will once I receive the set.. ordered yesterday late evening, dealer shipped it today noon by DTDC.. hoping to receive it by this Saturday at the latest....
