Well, this has been a busy couple of days for me.. so just a short update: I have tried to reproduce that video glitch many times and looked for other defects reported elsewhere and thankfully, haven't seen any defect till now... hope it stays that ways...
I will definitely write a more detailed review of this phone in some time, don't want to pass a judgement in 2 days time..
Initial thoughts are:
battery life was pathetic first day (maybe used it too much as well) but its improving, it lost only 3-4 percent in 12 hrs of standby so that definitely is a good sign, Screen is amazing...
Coming from stock Android of Nexus One, HTC Sense is a mix bag: too many good things about it and don't like only a few but the main problem with Sense for me is right now the occasional lag, not expected for a quad core phone.. anyways I plan to switch to a custom ROM later on, so not a problem..
I noticed that while playing videos in landscape full screen (youtube), the menu button bar at the bottom disappears in a while giving you entire screen real estate for the video which is a good thing..

Dude let's hope that it does and you get a replacement soon.. I have been researching a lot on this device's defects at other places and it seems that not everyone is facing these issues but a considerable percentage (like 10-15 percent) is.. so, it's kinda luck game and hope that the replacement one is better..

Also, just FYI: I have a gray one made in Taiwan.. I think the issues reported are also dependent on color/place of manufacture..

zagg does not have an indian center. though some retailers might be reselling their stuff.
they do deliver in india. and yes, i have placed an order. i have used them on my N1 and NS before.
total costing including shipping came to around 1500 rupees which is too much for a plastic film. but as i said... they have worked well for me before and i prefer them over other brands.
installing them however is a headache. i have wasted one skin in the past while trying to install it on the N1. so basically, if you mess up the installation, you lose 1500 bucks in one go.

i guess the video glitch is likely to occur if you turn on the fast boot option 
it has been on since the beginning as I knew about this fact, so checked the setting before doing any testing
Also, is your set Made in Taiwan or China? because it seems from posts in XDA that Taiwan sets are having lesser problems..

the box says made in taiwan.
and my phone did not have that option enabled by default so i guess you turned it on yourself?
It was turned on by default.. my firmware version is: 1.26.720.2, what's yours? maybe that was the reason behind different default setting?

totally. i have not seen any of the issues in the last 3-4 days but i have not been using the phone much. i just hope that the glowing sensor issue was a temporary anomaly and would not occur again. it is i suppose very late to get a replacement unit if i am to go by another user's experience. seven day period has now passed away.
Wi-Fi does not stay on in sleep mode even though the setting is on!
This is not happening for me, Try turning on Best Wifi Performance... I enabled that setting and also have disabled the Auto-disconnect setting as I think my Wifi dropped once because of that.. haven't experienced the Wifi drop at all after that..
