Indian Broadband prices/rates SLASHED!!!!!!! 2010

Fingers crossed yar... we have a lot of support in India, but I have to physically re-enter the country. My goal is before end April; all going well.

for starters I hav had BB connection for 5yrs now I have never seen any co.'s executive or even some CO's representative come online on forums and actually ask the customers about the suitable plans and needs nd further more give clarification for the same (the co's which even hav a cell are more into copy pasting than to even look at the issue), this is a lesson for not only BB CO's but others as well to start really caring for the customers rather than giving them an opportunity to complain.

[*]3 years ago I had 4, then 24mbit/s in Finland - yes, a downgrade. I moved house, and the cable connection was connected instantly, then the DSL сonnection was connected, and the Fiber connection I'd had earlier wasn't available in that building yet.
(Also, if you're wondering, I used to live between 2 countries... Winter in Finland, Summer in France)

or 4mbit/s for Rs3000 including unlimited calls within the country.

If Saudi Arabia can provide half-decent service, why can't we in India? Surely SA is a better comparison than the USA or Europe for stuff like average income and so forth. Georgia too. Turkey. Even (oh the shame! oh the horror!) Pakistan. Yes, the country which the Indian politicians and media love to hate has better Internet than you do. Infuriating. They access the same international cables and all, so why is access still such a "problem"? (Although, admittedly, having not used the Internet in Pakistan, I don't know what the quality of service is like). Or you can get Home Packages (Internet) - Nayatel - Triple Play Services Provider Fiber-Optic (data plans only) for INR650/month, with 12GB of traffic (but additional traffic only INR50/GB... compared to for example MTNL who charge INR0.8/MB or about INR800/GB in over-use charges).

Lol 9 yrs ago when u were enjoying 9mbs in Japan most of Indian where stuck with dialup connection of 56kbps :icry:. I was stuck with it for 3 yrs nd if u would connect to the net in the night be assured that everyone in next room sleeping would knw that ur connecting to the net lol. Also my tele bills were huge. Though by this time other countries had min speed of 2MBPS nobody has freaking idea how painful it was to dwnld back then. (I mean not just the time it took to dwnld even a small file like 50mb but freaking phone bills, I was crossing 3ks :readtherules: most of the time lol nd plus the net charges being paid separately, those where the yrs of brwsing as dwnldng was a dream :O )


4th year finally shifted to "BB" (btw I put it in quotes now :hysterical: )with a 256kbps connection :icry: with max speeds available only 512 Kbps or maybe 1mbs which were way expensive back then until recently 1mbps plans have come which caused the prices to drop. No one even knows how much electricity nd time has been wasted because of these slow speeds for so many yrs. I rember very well I had to wait for 9-12 hrs just to view a 700mb file. According to me it is just huge wastage of time nd electricity nd already there is a shortage of the later.


Even MS has asked TRAI to raise the "BB" limit to 2mbps which Indian ISPs' are saying they dnt have resources for it :hysterical:.

One of our major selling and investment points is saving of electricity. Especially now that BMC is threatening load shedding even for South Mumbai.

Imagine if thousands of businesses across India could turn off collectively hundreds-of-thousands of computers during the night!?

It's not a complete solution to load-shedding and whatnot, but it can't hurt.

yup if speed is high enough there wont be need to leave pc's on for long hrs for dwnlds, will save a lot I am pretty sure

Up to 1Gbit/s for business customers. Should be fast enough, I reckon.

Most consumers don't have GigE equipment (note: I said MOST, NOT ALL)... but those that do have it should still be able to take advantage of it. And 802.11n.

even for home 100Mbps fr ppl without the 1Gbit/s equip is cool :inodding:
