MTNL Broadband: ADSL light on, but no internet connectivity

As long as the phones come after the splitter it should not be a problem. This problem seems to affect users in PPPoE mode and usually (as far as I know) users with D-Link modems. You are the first I have heard using another make with this problem. Relax these jokers after a lot of fumbling & bumbling will finally get it right (they usually do :rofl. You could try configuring for 'Bridge mode' to see if it improves matters.

Yesterday, I experienced a 15-minute disconnection only once in about 6 hours so it looks like things may be improving. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I've read a lot of posts about 'bridge' mode but I don't have much of an idea about it or why it's better. As of now, I'll stick with PPPoE until I'm more comfortable toying around with the settings.

@essbebe. Congrats . I use Ashampoo winoptimizer 4 which does the same job as TCP apart from other things. I think its a problem at the MTNL end even sites like ICICI bank login, ICICI Direct login, DNA etc pages can't be accessed.

Is anyone using the OpenDNS client s/w on their machine. Is it advisable to use it :redface:

Advisable if u have ur customised shortcuts or blocked sites etc. Otherwise not needed.

The disconnection have started again now between 1630 hrs & now (every 5 - 7 mins) DNS servers give 'timed out' MTNL or OpenDNS.

For guys who have been writing to DGM (Broadband) Mumbai. I have been told by MTNL staff who called up my place that 'it no use writing to him as his function is different' (whatever that means). I was asked to write to DGM (Internet 1) [email protected] . This email-id has given an error so try [email protected]

@Socrates. Haha these Mtnl guys are only known for this purpose only. If you go to one person he will transfer you to another guy. The same continues. Mtnl hai to sahi hai lol. Any ways will write on that mail id as well.i get this error when i try to send using their own mail serversThe message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server.
