Bridge mode has been set up perfectly, as per tutorial on this forum. Connection connects and disconnects as required.

The problem I am facing is that there seems to be no "dial" interface to connect to a PPPoE line. If you refer to the screenshot below, you will see that there is a PPPoE setting in the wifi router, but I fail to get internet when I use that. I kept my PPPoe username and password as per my MTNL settings here too, but no internet connection. :/

I've just about given up. Internet Connection Sharing by Microsoft is just as retarded as it was when it came out in windows 98. So that's a dead end. :(

can u provide me with the screenshot of setup wizard on the wifi router. not the individual WAN settings pg. wats da model of the wifi router. i very much agree dat the windows internet sharing wizard is retarded but its nto dat difficult to configure either. i hv used it in the past.

I use a Linksys WRT160n v3 with the DDWRT firmware. It doesn't have a setup wizard.

can u check if ur wifi router & dd-wrt support PPPoE connection. bcoz i cant see nywhere in the screenshot provided for PPPoE connection & username & password. tryin to configure the router without it supporting PPPoE mode would be idiotic & complete waste of time.also is there ny particular reason as to why u dont want PPPoE connection on ur ADSL router.

this is a view of the PPPoE mode. It's an alternative to Automatic (DHCP) That you see in the previous screen shots.
I've tried using it. Left it to maybe, configure itself or something for about 4 hours. Still didn't work. :(

The reason I want bridged mode is coz it's the only way torrents work. :)

when u select connection type PPPoE, do ny options provided below or on the other tabs of setup change.try googlin how to setup PPPoE connection on DD-WRT. i hv personally never used that firmware before.torrents do work with the PPPoE connection on ADSL modem & sharing net on the wifi router. u also get the same speed as u would get if u were directly connected to the ADSL router. a friend of mine uses it like that. he has no problem with the torrents.

Nopes. None of the other options change.Good news is, I got my torrents to work. Since MTNL was bein a grinch (yeah... epic How I Met Your Mother reference there!) and was blocking most of my ports, I thought, why not set utorrent on port 80? :D For the uninitiated, port 80 is used for http. i.e regular web browsing data. i.e. they can't block that. I got decent speeds once I did that. Thanks for all your help. It seems although my problem has been solved, The issues raised in this thread have not been answered... *sigh*
