I guess so. I think they sent us this message so we would stop calling them up and ask about neo sports again and again, and then again :P

won't help them. they promised the world but are delivering cities to their subscribers. i went to the local tata sky dth dealer in my sector and yelled at him for trying to lure me into getting a Tata Sky connection.

My cable wallah is such a sly fox. I still have a lot of channels in the ultra high frequency that are too weak and piss poor in clarity but just a day before the match he somehow managed to get Neo Sports in place of Star sports and put star in the UHF range where it is of course not viewable. Not that a great fan of cricket since i started supporting Arsenal FC but still i find myself somehow going back to watch cricket though not the entire match. My only worry is that whether my operator will put star sports back in VHF or VHL range so i won't miss any of the Arsenal or good football matches on it.

I think us subscribers should be a little more mature in our approach. It's early days yet, please remember that the negotiations are in our interest too. If the customers freak out coz they miss a single match it puts the DTH operators in a very weak position to negotiate in the long run which would be to our detriment.

you switched over to DTH to get better services. if they are not capable of providing the basic services. it's pretty sad.i think they have also not added any of the so called promised audio channels. so, they cant deliver what normal cable guys are. so, they are not delivering what they promised initially...why do i give them brownie points.of course, their claims already have enough lies like... DVD quality. the funniest thing i heard was that the future of television is here today... dish tv.if what dish tv gives us is the future of television, god save the television from the internet.

Don't be under illusion tht DTH provider r in any negotiations with Neo Sports.... Wht DTH operators r doing is just "wait and watch".... They r hoping DD will get match signals so they don't have to add Neo sports to the DTH platform.... Tht's the main reason Neo sports is asking DD to enrypt the match signals so tht DTH operators can't use it... DTH operators r just making a mickey out of customers.... In an interview on Tv some Neo sports offical was saying tht they r hoping to get lucrative deals from DTH operators and if they provide signals to DD they will not have tht.... So u can see if Tata Sky want they can have Neo Sports in 5 mins .... but we won't get cos they don't want it....

I totally agree with you - as of now we're the ones paying more and getting less than the others. All I'm saying is, right now it's way too early to be getting really upset about things. We'll have a fairly good idea a few months down the line. We've tolerated YEARS of 2nd rate service & random bans in a totally chaotic and disorganized playing field. It's just been a month since CAS has come in, DTH operators don't have a choice but to compete with them now or they'll be dumped faster than they can say 'DVD'! Let's just wait and watch how they deal with the upcoming challenges without causing ourselves undue stress!

TataSky can get the signal in two minutes - but you and I will be the ones taking the hit for that eventually.

I'm not a 100% about this but according to my understanding the signals need to be encrypted so that they cannot be broadcast _abroad_. They're not fighting for terrestrial rights, it's a given that DD gets those, they're protecting their overseas rights. If DD does telecast the match, on which of their channels will they show it? Aren't DD channels free to air for everyone, including TataSky?

a report on tv today said that DD wants to telecast the feed on their own DTH platform.the match however is likely to end up appearing on dd national and dd sports. i would hate to see people like kris srikant, mandira bedi, charu sharma discussing cricket on my television set.

I posted this earlier also....Tata Sky can have Neo sports and can make the channel available to those users only who pay 50rs.... in this way subscribers have to pay for the channel....and tatasky will not feel any burden.... but wht they r doing is just make the subscribers suffer...The DD channel we get on tatasky is a digital channel.... and the one we get with a simple antenna is an analog channel... Neo Sports is saying they want to save their international right but in reality they don't give it a damn...middle east, pakistan , china ect r the few countries where DD have its signals and they too r digital...So it doesn't effect Neo much...Wht Neo sports is asking DD to do is tht encrypt the signals when sent to satellite.... DD will get the signals from Neo and get it encrypted and then relay it to the users to watch it...so DD have to set up decoders in their base tranmitters so tht they decode the signals and then transmit it.... in this way DTH and cable providers (specially DTH providers) will not be able to access those signals and they will have to buy the channel from Neo Sports....
