Neo sports plus will be available soon. Recently in an interview , Harish Thawani , Chairman of Nimbus Communications said that the company was planning to diversify into football and golf. If they can get rights to some exciting European leagues , ESPNSTAR are going to find it very difficult as they already have lost onto the cricket rights and the Champions' league rights. The remaining rights to cricket in pakistan , sri lanka and the gulf countries are own by Ten sports. So all is left for them are the overseas rights to cricket where again Nimbus will be snapping at their heels . With the merger of Zee and Ten sports , espnstar may find it even more difficult in the future to compete in the Indian subcontinent.

Neo just can't compare themself with ESPNStar ..... They r not even 1% if them.... When u talk abt ESPNStar its abt quality... Also don't forget they have rights for next 2 world cup+ champion trophy, rights for matches in australia, newzealand, SA .... add it with their tennis coverage, F1 coverage, football coverage, Nba, Rugby and many other sports... they r just top notch... I think no one can throw them from no.1 position in near or distant future...

But you cant compare neo sports with Espn Star. Look at the commentry team what they have got is that a worth a commentry. I hate arun lal. Look at espn star Ravi Shatri, Sunny Gavakar, Wasim Akram, Allan Wilkins and more importantly the best anchor in cricket Harsha Bhogle.

If you've seen Zee Sport's 'sports jockeys' anchoring any show and the mess Ten sports made by taking Champions league rights when they only had 1 channel to broadcast matches you'll know that even these two combined come nowhere near ESPN-Star. The first thing they need to learn is that they're supposed to show advertisements in between sports not sports between advertisements.

The only reason we don't have these commentators for other channels is because they have signed contracts with espnstar.I'm sure all these people are waiting for the day their contracts expire so they can turn freelance. Just imagine the amount of money they are going to lose out on due to this.

hitman , i know that espnstar is the best when it comes to quality and that they do have a lot of rights in their bag. Tennis , football , nba and rugby will only find majority of it's audience in the metros. The amount they would earn through advertisements from a single indian cricket series is mind boggling and they get an awesome return on it. The sports you mentioned won't get them much money in india.Cricket mut be central to plans of every sports broadcaster in a country like india. Nimbus are not fools to bid such a massive sum for the rights. They know that they will get handsome returns on it.

kreacher , you have no idea how pissed i was when tensports won the rights for the CL. Having just a single option is so miserable as we don't have high speed connections to watch it through internet streams. As for those annoying advertisements i do agree.

I hate all these sports channels....It would have been a lot better if we had one broadcaster with 3-4 multiple channels.... like sky sports in uk...The Champions League has gone to the dogs. I hate the stupid comentators and the coverage.EspnStar is the best when we talk about Football.....ZeeSports is just horrible, so is SetMax. The amount of advertisements during the live matches makes my head spin. And i think i have allready mentioned my thoughts regarding NeoSports. Their commentary is as if there is ony audio feed coming through the tv sets. The stupid ball by ball description is irritating and makes me wanna puke, so to speak :P
