umm ... strange, tho i don't think it will help but if i were in the same boat, i would try resetting rcom modem (dosen't hurt right?). As all devices are unable to play means we can rule out the broswer/pc setting problem. Next can also try with google dns ?
apart from this, no idea what might be causing this !!!

What good would your representatives would be able to offer apart from few apologies and ineffective assurances? Till the time the CC dept is not empowered to escalate the issues to the right ppl who have the control and the ability to change things, it is just a waste of time and energy. I am appreciative of the fact that you'r trying to do your due diligence to keep things cool but I don't think your efforts are heading in the right direction. Here is mine out of the bunch. Do you guys ever wonder that how many complaints would have ppl escalated by now on setting the right data sync rates? However, it just doesn't sit in right in the heads of your tech team to set data sync rates a little higher than the allocated port speeds. Customers aren't demanding you guys to offer 5mbps on 4mbps plans. They are just asking for the entitled 4mbps. Numerous times I have called up the CC dept to hear back the contention ratio shit as advised by TRAI. Don't they ever ponder that with RCOM is that ever possible ? How many ppl ever enrol for your service in a given specified area ? I am just leaving it here as i gotta go... Keep up the good work as eventually one day its gonna pay you back irrespective of whether you work for RCOM or ABC. Good Luck !

Hmm. Something isn't exactly right since the past 4 days over here in Lucknow. Some websites/services are responsive just like they normally are whereas some are not so responsive. Speed is fluctuating a little bit which is something that has NEVER happened before. We've had trouble with latency (and latency is just fine and exactly how it's supposed to be) but never this kind of trouble. Is anyone having similar problems? In Lucknow or maybe elsewhere?
It'll probably be resolved by itself but no idea how long it's going to take.

The problems i mentioned in the post above are resolved now. Since last night, everything is normal and running as it should. Getting full bandwidth now. :pizza: :pizza: :pizza: :pizza: :pizza:

& there is no ping to gateway since morning, Getting a valid IP address but internet is down. Using 3g now :(
Can any one from ludhiana region confirm if net is working or still down ?

ya ,
as startup :-
wget 'http://reliancebroadband.co.in/reliance/startportal_isg.do?userId=USERNAME&password=PASSWORD&action=doLoginSubmit' -O /dev/nullreplace USERNAME with your username/subscriber ID and PASSWORD as your password.
then in keep alive section, under connection watchdog i am using to ping to following at an interval of 1000 seconds,
74.125.236.129 74.125.236.130 124.124.5.135 this is google.com and our dns ips. using space at max 3 ips can be added here.

i am not a Computer enginner so i don't know much about cron jobs, they are the best solution to this autologin feature, but the above works just fine for me .
as the watchdog is set at 16 minutes , at max if i am disconnected after 24 hours i get logged in automatically in 16minutes, so not a big dear .... & you can adjust the seconds as per your wish.

hope this was helpful !!!
edit :- THERE SCRIPTS ARE FOR DD-WRT FIRMWARE AND NOT FOR CMD OR ANYTHING ELSE.
Thanks for the info.
I recently changed from Airtel to Relaince. I have Thunder 699 plan. I have to login again and again after few mins of inactivity. My job requires a always on connection because I have to work remotely at times.
found this info. I did as you said in my Linksys WRT54G which runs on DD-WRT firmware. When I connect reliance wire to router and reboot. It again asks me to enter user name and password in my comp.
It would be gr8 if you could help me on it.
Thanks
I have not yet checked on line disconnect. Will check tonight.

I have been online since 10:00am with no hiccups. I had the same situation about 2 weeks back when they were upgrading the server.

Everything fine here as well.
hmm strange, but i am not surprised, after all it is reliance. It was corrected the next day so i guess may be exchange fault or something .. who knows.

Hey, well i guess you didn't clone the MAC address on the router ? It is the first step in reliance + router setup. Just go to Setup -> MAC Address Clone -> Enable.
Just clone the address to any one then click Apply -> Save. Then Reboot & it should solve the problem.
I am using my DD-WRT router as a FTP server , a torrent downloader & NAS, so don't worry about 24x7 connectivity. My setup runs 24x7 without issue as long as Reliance provides connectivity LOL ...
Just as i said earlier, at max you will be disconnected for 15-16 minutes in 24 hours (you can lower this time in connection watchdog)
So Good luck :)
PS: I am just curious now, will try to work on Cron jobs to make a startup script, hope google helps me lol ... ;)
