The problem has become much worse now.
Speed test shows everything is normal, torrents too.
BUT its almost impossible to stream videos on Youtube.
Then i thought of downloading and watching it but the maximum speed I could achieve was 35 kBps. This clearly shows that my connection is having problem in streaming content off Google servers.
Anyone else facing this ? What should I do to resolve the problem.
I even tried with my old router and the same thing happened.

YouTube and Google plus have been behaving weird for me since the last week as well but not that bad though. Do a tracert and check the gateway you are being routed. If that happens to be xxx.xxx.xxx.85 you might need to get that changed.Post your ping and tracert results for google and youtube and I'll post mine tomorrow once i get a chance.

This is tracert to youtube.com

I believe you on ME ? I don't see any major hurdle in the tracert although your route seems to be a little congested. Your pings should have been lower than mine on account of Ethernet connection. Try using Youtube on Mobile to check for any flaws. Raise a ticket with the CC stating login problems with portal. Numerous times i have seen them changing ports to rectify portal problems and this might just help.

hi guys,
i applied for a new connection 10 days ago, but no callback yet. I call them everyday and they promise me callback within 24 hours but still no callback. When I ask the status, they say its showing pending and that this time I will get a callback for sure within 24 hours. Same story is repeated everytime i call their cc.
Please guide me what must i do in order to get a callback from these lazy people at reliance.
Thanks

hmm strange, but i am not surprised, after all it is reliance. It was corrected the next day so i guess may be exchange fault or something .. who knows.
Hey, well i guess you didn't clone the MAC address on the router ? It is the first step in reliance + router setup. Just go to Setup -> MAC Address Clone -> Enable.
Just clone the address to any one then click Apply -> Save. Then Reboot & it should solve the problem.
I am using my DD-WRT router as a FTP server , a torrent downloader & NAS, so don't worry about 24x7 connectivity. My setup runs 24x7 without issue as long as Reliance provides connectivity LOL ...
Just as i said earlier, at max you will be disconnected for 15-16 minutes in 24 hours (you can lower this time in connection watchdog)
So Good luck :)
PS: I am just curious now, will try to work on Cron jobs to make a startup script, hope google helps me lol ... ;)
I did the cloning part. but not fruitful or rather if face the problem of internet working at only one comp at a time. when i try to browse in 2 system at a time . its really pathetic... it take hell lot of time to load and mostly page not available (even for google.com and google news).
I tried connecting only one PC (Modem->Linksys router(running DDWRT) -> 1 pc via lan.) even then same problem. Then i connected pc directly to modem, internet works gr8 and speed is also good.
I dont know where the problem is. Planing to test with another router.
help on this would be gr8. Thanks.

Why don't you personally visit the Local RCOM office and submit the doc's. RCOM is too lazy to care for your business.
a few years back reliance people dug up the whole neighbourhood to lay their wires and stuff for broadband, that time I refused them the internet connection, but when i go to the reliance shop, they say there is no wireline broadband in sonipat. Where as when I call cc, they say that it is available in my area and that I should wait for a callback from the engineer. I am sure that reliance provides wireline broadband in my area, they had even installed a box outside my house that gives out these connections but the main reliance shop in sonipat does not entertains wireline broadband requests. What to do now?

it sound like a problem with dd-wrt setup. Try the famous 30-30-30 reset of DD-WRT(google it). Update to latest firmware & then try again. Also the internet connection type has to be "Automatic Configuration-DHCP". Then do MAC clone & this should suffice.
If still you face any problem (which i really don't think you will) then you have to seek for DD-WRT forum for more assistance.

Good luck !!

This is typical reliance, all depends on the local exchange guys, some get connection the very next day (when i applied) & some or many have to wait for months to get a new connection(my friend who lives not very far from my place). So just wait & a very long wait if you are not luck enough :nonchalance:

hmm this is strange, i tried download with IDM & it is full speed as per plan. Did you tried vimeo for streaming test ?? is the problem with all/any other streaming site or is it just google related sites ??
EDIT:-
Code:
C:UsersHarkiratsingh>tracert youtube.comTracing route to youtube.com [74.125.236.110]over a maximum of 30 hops: 1

30-30-30 reset will fix this issue. I was having the same issue, albeit on WiFi. Flash the latest version of DD-WRT.
