Exactly DO-NOT-CALL list.Whenever i get a call, i listen to the greeting and follow with a request to put on said list. There is an immediate disconnect, you are in effect telling them where to go without raising your BP. Nothing more needs to be said. Can anyone confirm whether this actually works here ?..works wonders in other countries. As to whether a 3rd party actually has a sbscribers's address...hmmma name & a number for sure..but any more ??

its in the process of being implemented. the centralized list. where people would be fined to make calls to a registered number!

Thanks guys and thanks imranais for the email address of the nodal officer. Will email him for sure.

I have blocked them . Send DND to 111 and u wont get that pathetic automated ringtone songs on ur number :) . You want even get any advertisement sms from them but i doubt if they can block third party numbers who dont follow rules . Btw national do not call list is in action from 1st august ( not sure ) but i am pretty sure it will take quiet a few months maybe a year till people really follow it .

Yup it's DND time now. This happened to me on Sep 1 the day DND was to start. Those telemarketers have become really desperate fearing DND it would appear ;)

Yup dnd is the best solution , i heard that if someone clled u after u registered with DND he would be charged Rs.500 per minute for the call

I had poor luck getting the DND thing activated via their website or SMS. I suggest calling customer care directly. I do recommend it thoroughly though - been many months and I have been ad-free!!As far as this incident goes, one point that strikes me is that by your own admission you "abused him" first. While his reaction may be wholly inappropriate, your action in the first place is too. Unless you have reasonable apprehension that the guy intends on carrying out his threat, I suggest you leave the matter owing to your own culpability.

online and sms based activation has worked for me on both tata indicom and hutch.i change my hutch number every six months so i know :D

This outrageous thing happened to me a few days back.

Everyday prerecorded calls come from Hutch playing songs and selling some service. They are very annoying. Few days back a Hutch telemarketer naming himself Vineet called me from 9811679934 and immediately in annoyance I abused him and cut off the phone. Then he called me 2-3 times from Hutch numbers-9811679934,9873822753 and I didn't pick the phone.

Finally when I pick up the phone on a call from 9811090354 this Vineet started abusing me back and threatened to terminate my connection. I told him go ahead, I will get another for Rs. 100. At this he started to threaten me saying he has my name and address and he would be "coming with others."

This is what Hutch has become, a den of time-passers and criminals who are privy to our personal information and issue criminal threats to us.

I have lodged a complaint with the police against this !@!@##$.

:hysterical: I think he was mentioning about the Hutch dogs as "comign with others" . .whereever you go their network follows :hysterical:

^^^Poor joke...............Yes I agree DND works atleast on Hutch (I do not receive any sms or automated calls from Hutch for more than 12 months now). But I do receive calls from people who claim themselves to be calling from hutch. Their usual opening statement: Hello Sir, Main Hutch se baat kar rahi hoon/raha hoon, aap ka connection prepaid hai ya postpaid???My simple answer to them: I am on DND list of Hutch, have noted ur incoming number and would be calling Hutch Marketing VP (Mr.Harit Nagpal) to give a complaint.Their response: Sorry, Sorrrrry Sir and disconnect!
