UPDATE: 31-1-2011 I got a call from the Nodal office yesterday regarding my complaint. With a lot of apologies (what else can they do). They have promised to ensure that the customer is given the complete & latest info on bonus cards (I wonder how they will do that, because if that was possible this would not have come to pass), but could not explain how even the system generated sms was wrong & misleading, also promised to take action regarding the uncouth behaviour of the joker who called me on 27-2-2011. But I can say this, the quality of manpower has really sunk. I had to repeat my case three times for the guy to understand clearly. When I told him that the signal near my residence is very poor inspite of many complaints & my neighbours are already using the MNP option, he tells me contact ‘networkcaremum’ (whatever that means, I presume its an email-id minus @vodafone.in). in the past they would have taken the initiative to do the needful but not anymore. Now I will cancel this bonus card offer with the CAN 50 to 144 & opt for another bonus card.

Another CLEARLY misleading info which i came across:

Have you tried *444# daily bonus card (option 1)?
Again under that, there is option 1, 8 min (local+std) free and it clearly states that "valid for 24 hrs"

i activated it around 10PM at night... and what i noticed...by now u must have guessed it... it started charging me after 12AM. then CC told me that daily bonus card are valid only for THAT DAY!

then why did u even mention 24hrs?? this is again clear cheating.

Bloody crooks,:@ in a post somewhere above I had mentioned that they are cheats & the reason why they do so & some member took umbrage. I hope he reads this and realizes that mine was not an isolated case.

UPDATE: after speaking to the Nodal office rep who called me on 31st Jan 2011. I did as he suggested I cancelled the Rs 51/- bonus card on 2nd Feb 2011 & recharged with the Rs 52/- bonus card (valid for 365 days).
I got this confirmation sms ‘Aapka Vodafone Per second plan, sabhi calls @ 1p/s aapke Prepaid account par activate ho gaya hai.’
My problem is when I dial *141# it shows my balance correctly but the expiry date which so far was 28-11-2014 (I have a Lifelong SIM) has now become 12th Sep 2011. :iomg: How come? Let me clarify here that all these years the expiry date shown for this command was the expiry date of the Lifelong facility. Never any other.
If for arguments sake as the guys at the Vodafone store claim its the expiry date of the bonus card.
Then the exp date of the Rs52/- bonus card being displayed should have been 2nd Feb 2012 & NOT 12th Sep 2011. :@

I went to the Vodafone store at Prabhadevi today & spoke to Ms. R S & the supervisor Ms. S. they tried giving me a lot of cock & bull stories, to cut a long story short they were unable to help me. They tried telling me it was displaying the exp date of my bonus card, when I pointed out even that was wrong they were totally at sea & asked me to contact Nodal office. :@

I have to add here about the devil may care attitude was really something to observe. It looks like they are getting so many incoming customers because of Mobile Number Portability that they don’t care about the existing customers especially the prepaid ones. Being from the service industry myself I find their attitude totally shocking even when I requested if they could ring up somebody in the back office to check, if it was a system error they bluntly told me they cannot be disturbed. !!!!!:iomg:

Mobile Number Portability, make use of it?

Wish I could, I have a HUGE balance to my credit. I will have to finish it before I can think of shifting. Hell I am actually contemplating that in future my MNP request gets stuck I will just chuck the sim & shift anyway. I was really excited that balance could be carried forward (as reported once in TOI Mumbai) but that was only reporting by an ignoramus & my hopes were dashed when I found out the truth. :(

I read somewhere that there are codes using which you can transfer your balance.. lemme see...
Yup, there you go give it a shot.

Vodafone allows balance transfer to prepaid mobile customers | Teleguru.in
VODAFONE BALANCE TRANSFER TRICK | 2011 MOBILE TRICKS,HACKS&REVIEWS

Thanks for the links. V interesting but unfortunately not applicable here. If true, would have solved a lot of my problems. :D
I have already checked, its not possible, :(
The first link is donating balance to a friend/relative if their balance runs out Basically a donation. PLUS it's for Tamilnadu not Mumbai. :)
The second link is the same but does not specify where. so maybe it available in Mumbai but its a donations of sorts. Ooops I did a search n Vodafone Mumbai page no results displayed, so its safe to presume its not available in mumbai.
This wont hold true in case of Mobile Number Portability.

mmmmm I would say instead of sweating it. Just use the service till September 2011 and by the way sometimes it takes a while for the system (at companies end) to update your proper validity and such information so, be patient :)
