Scroll down the page .UserID & Password will appear in plain language.The user password was "password" for the IP given earlier . For modem admin adminThere are other software, which when you movethe key over the xxxxxxx box willreveal the PW. This is useful for dialer etc !Update another user with PW password !From IE browser Password

My modem is not Pronet and my password is not "password"But what i mean to say is when I type my IP address or my friends IP address (I know his current IP address as I call him and ask about it) I cannot access the modem page.By just typing the IP address in browser can we access modem page???

Read the post/s properly before replying , on assumptions.
I think before commenting on any post you should go through the content
of it. Step no. 8 clearly tells to change the password from its default value
Please use quotes sentence by sentence, so that we know that your
comments are to the point .

Conclusion and advice : Change your modem's default password
admin , password , 1234 , utstar , etc.,
as advised by @ threadstarter.

All I asked you was my password if you are able to hack it and the procedure.
As I don't belive PPPoE mode is unsecured as indirectly said by @threadstarter.

I belive one should change the modem's default passowrd. Not only modem's default passowrd but password of any account / device should note be kept the same, it should be changed.
Change from time to time to be on a more safer side.

So all I am asking you is "my password if you are able to hack it and the procedure".

Excellent guide but I have a problem, when I come to the option "Select connect using a broadband connection using a broadband connection having username and password" it's comepletely grayed out."Dial Up modem" is also grayed out. Any suggestions?

If you have the XP OS CD
Start/RUN sfc /scannow ( note space after sfc)
Windows will ask for the installation CD.
Will check for corrupt files and restore original/s.

Well Sahyadri and Essbebe, pls dont invlove in arguments...! As for me, I dont believe that its possible to hack some one's modem password even if you know the IP Address....!
