@sahaydri your post No 11.
My IP address is "117.195.96.54" and I am connected in PPPoE mode and yes I have NOT CHANGED my modem password.

Now were you lying/cheating earlier ????
@essbebe

The screenshot you posted was not of my Modem. My modem is not Pronet and my password is not "password"

Did I say the screen shot is your net details ,modem, password etc . ?
Update
another user with PW password !
Read the post/s properly before replying , on assumptions.
I think before commenting on any post you should go through the content
of it. Step no. 8 clearly tells to change the password from its default value
Please use quotes sentence by sentence, so that we know that your
comments are to the point .

Conclusion and advice : Change your modem's default password
admin , password , 1234 , utstar , etc.,
as advised by @ threadstarter.

@sahyadri
What was I lying/cheating earlier ????
Same story.
Read your earlier post/s and my post at No 24 again !

In my post #11 I said

My IP address is "117.195.96.54" and I am connected in PPPoE mode and yes I have NOT CHANGED my modem password.
Now tell me what is my Broadband Username and Password.

In post #15 I said
At the time of your post my IP was the same.
Now it's 117.195.98.161

Here at the time of your post means "essbebe's" post #12 as I have quoted "essbebe's" post #12.

Now in my post #20

@essbebe
Can you pls PM me the password as well as how you decoded it ????
eager to know

@essbebe
What lie you find here ??

All I asked you was my password if you are able to hack it and the procedure.
As I don't belive PPPoE mode is unsecured as indirectly said by @threadstarter.

I belive one should change the modem's default passowrd. Not only modem's default passowrd but password of any account / device should note be kept the same, it should be changed.
Change from time to time to be on a more safer side.

So all I am asking you is "my password if you are able to hack it and the procedure".

Excellent guide but I have a problem, when I come to the option "Select connect using a broadband connection using a broadband connection having username and password" it's comepletely grayed out."Dial Up modem" is also grayed out. Any suggestions?

Encouraging comments to a new comer's post. Thank you.

Probably you have a corrupt file.
will give the link later for repair.

Suggestion1 :
You Cannot Create a Network Connection After You Restore Windows XP

You cannot create a network connection after you restore Windows XP

Dial-up Modem or PPPoE Option in New Connection Wizard Is Unavailable

Dial-up modem or PPPoE option in New Connection Wizard is unavailable

Suggestion2 :
If you have the XP OS CD
Start/RUN sfc /scannow ( note space after sfc)
Windows will ask for the installation CD.
Will check for corrupt files and restore original/s.

Well Sahyadri and Essbebe, pls dont invlove in arguments...! As for me, I dont believe that its possible to hack some one's modem password even if you know the IP Address....!
