Update: A new batch of rumored specs have surfaced over on GSM Arena, and these seem to be more in line with what we'd expect of a new Nexus. According to an anonymous Google employee, that 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display mentioned above is just about the only spec to make the final cut. The processor, however, is more likely to be a dual-core 1.5GHz Exynos (that's right) with an accompanying dual-core PowerVR SGX543MP2 graphics chip. That rear facing camera? Try 8 megapixels with a newly beefed up sensor. The handset should also ship with a girthy 2,050mAh battery fully capable of juicing this apparent LTE / CDMA / GSM Android monster.
one source says it as 5 MP cam, the other 8 MP. Difference in processor as well.If its just 5 MP, I will better use a custom ROM for ICS on my Galaxy S, no need of upgrade for me!
open this image in full size. this is 5 megapixels.
MP rating does not matter. the optics matter. the quality of the image matters. this image is large enough for most practical purposes even in print format.
your phone is already capable of recording video at 720p... nexus s does not even have that officially.
from what i see 1080p refers to 1920x1080 which is smaller than 5mp.
in the end it all depends upon the optics. nexus s probably had worse optics compared to nexus one in my own personal experience. but this one is supposed to have much better hardware for the camera.
8mp would be a useful update. but a 5mp unit would still be good enough.
