Dayanidhi maran has said in a press meet today that SCV operators are forced to switch over to a rival north indian cable operator (Hathaway?). He has also complained to the police that scv operators are arrested and illegally detained in all night police lock up.

Serves that a* right. He threw out competition when he launched SCV and did the same arm twisting ... Both Maran and Kalai* are the same breed ... Nasty for the people and Nasty in DTH... I sincerely hope his dth fails ... Unfair practices are his forte ... alas and people will still go in ...Is theer any independent media in TamilNadu ? How many news channels does the state have ? PATHETIC ... I have lived in TamilNadu and have no pity for Maran and his goons and Kalai and his goons all they want is $ ... and politics is a way to more $ ....Man and i hope u guys stop being sympathetic to him and his efforts ... Yes. Oliver i agree with you. I had the same thought and started a new thread 'FUTURE OF SUN DIRECT'. I dont feel it is going to get boom like Tata or Dish. Morover they are not giving prefrence to SUN DIRECT as they do for SCV... Yes.. there is no tamil channels who provides a correct news.. new channels are just follow the style of CNN, NDTV, but same old news for once in half an hour....

Like i said NO channel gives the right news,Jaya included.I mean if people from TN are so obcessed about film personalities being part of the merry go around i can't see where we will go ...And it's kinda pathetic that people in the state can be easily made to choose between either Jaya or Karuna ...I don't see an alternative either but ... I sincerely abhor this when it spills out into business and stuff like media ...Comeon ... News reporting is the basis of democracy .....We can't have that untill we have free and fair press which is not affiliated to either jaya or maran or Karu ...I mean it's quiet stupid to watch those channels and their propaganda ...Just watch the election coverage .... when jaya loses her tv used to show neck and neck ...and when karunanithi loses they take their own sweet time to display the results ...That's just pretty pathetic ... comeon it's leads ... and if u are having leads during counting show them ... you can't do much by mollifiyng your morbit supporters for 3 hours :hysterical:

Ask is it there in India. Because most of the national channels supports Congress bluntly. We never get proper news either. Take any state in India. At the most only 2 parties rule one after another.

Sun stbs are Interoperatable. They just need to change the software over the air. They support both MPEG2 and MPEG4. Whereas Dish tv and Tataksy are not following the interoperatability for many years now. Can you put the TS sub card in to Dish tv stb and make it work? If you are neutral then you need post unbiased and not like Jaya or Kalingnar news

The point is Tata and Dish are not in politics and news/media ? get that ?When u get absolute power you become absolute morons ...Thats' what SUN DTH is ... anyways ... it's a concept called separation of powers ...Executive, Legislature, Judiciary and 4th estate should never overlap ... I mean ownership and power ...That's real democracy ...If u take indian media channels u do have enough of them beaming in ... One for every view point ... You can start ur own news channel on a satellite if u want ...Not possible at all in TN ....Just check out how many of the tamil daily news papers tried and did not get it off the ground ?Check bengal ( a state with no democracy yet they have 12 channels beaming in news ... in bengali ...)That's what I am talking about ... but it's pointless i guess ... When it's so horrible we don't realise it's so ...SUNDTH is really that bad cos it's a cohesion of power ....Sun DTH keeps Maran afoat politically and politiacl power keeps Sun dth afloat ...after a while u can't do too much ... can you ?That's the problem.Chao ... i am not going to post anymore on this ... cos I know how TN reacts ... I have spent a good part of my life there ... all people down there love suntv and can't eat witohut their 8 pm soaps crying and sobbing ...:thumbsup:
